Please choose a solution.....everyone needs to vote: Draws in the MDT....how to handle?

Post by BoxBuzz »

Argghhh......Draws in the MDT......they be happening! Moorer and Rosenbloom thus far this week.

I'm favoring an additional 3 round fight in all such cases for this week and perhaps the rest of the tourney......little chance of another draw in that case.

OR 15 round fights from event 17 forward for all the rest of the MDT tourney.

Please pick one solution and vote. The majority will rule....

A draw is a draw. The fight is ran and marked as such and the tournament continues. It's always been that way in the past, why change it now.

If anything, make all the fights 12 round fights after this round, moving forward. Less chances for a draw. We weren't running 15 rounders, unless under special request all season. I don't see the point of everyone having 15 rounders now.

Had to double check, a draw is worth 1 point as I thought it was. So it's not like a fighter receives no points from it.

I say all fights 12 rounders the rest of the tournament, if anything.

12 rounders all the way for me, but whatever is the majority.

In the group stage, 12 rounders are worth a point so it makes sense to continue on with that.
During knockout stages though, I am not 100% sure.

In the Group Stage, a draw is worth 1 point.

Beyond that - we have always had an immediate rematch that same week to settle it.

And I don't disagree with Geto that we could make all MDT bouts 12 rounders. The Final Bout of the Tournament should of course be a 15 rounder.

Well, let me introduce myself. I am boxbuzz....I love a good conversation, I ask questions, welcome input, and..on occasion am called upon to make decisions.....usually AFTER seeking input. lol..I have never hosted an MDT in the past....though my fighters have participated on occasion.

Now....I've never really thought the answer..."well that's the way we always did it before" was a particurlary good response for most things....however..., in this case I think it's just about right.

A draw is a draw........case closed. lol

After this round, I think moving all fights to 12 and the championship fight to 15 would work.

We did the MDT in the last season, I could have sworn? Weren't you running the fights then?
