Rematch for sure. The weight discrepancy will loom. Haney has been exposed as chinny.

that was one of the weirdest performances where a guy has won at elite level. garcia prancing around much of it. barely punching for almost entire rounds at time. turning his back constantly. but man those bursts were effective, he hurt dev almost every time a clean shot landed. power won this time

Fights like this really help the sport.

Great performance from Garcia. I thought he would gas in those later rounds but the lack of activity in the early and middle rounds was a smart move, helped him save up energy.

And before we start to deem Haney as chinny, I think a lot of welters would have gone to sleep on some of those left hooks that landed.

Great fight! The sport wins.

Ref sure was acting like it in there. but I am glad it was a good fight, surprising outcome and the right man won. I thought Garcia had it by 1-2 points so in my opinion the right man won.

haney i wouldnt call chinny yet, but he's not especially sturdy. he had been hurt in three fights before (loma, linares, diaz by my count). although he never went down and recovered in those, a legit chinny guy prob wouldnt have

Garcia delivered and big. Many were giving Garcia no shot.

Just glad he got the nod. Fully deserved it. Haney is legit chinny man and not great to watch at all.

Nobody wanna see Haney take over boxing with his snoozer style..

he shoulda taken a point from haney for holding, but i dont think anything really screamed fix. hitting a guy with a clean shot way after the ref says is a flagrant foul and garcia deserved the point off, people shouldnt moan about that. if there was a pro haney fix hee could have been much stricter on garcia for rabbit punching, and not have said a word to haney about hitting the side of the body

a ref who was in on the fix couldve done a much better job of being pro haney, thankfully garcia got a legit win and we dont need to moan about the ref costing him the victory

I assumed garcia would come out fast, fade and then quit sinces he seemed like he was having a manic episode the whole promotion

Good for him

People are quick to call fighters 'chinny.' Haney seems to have a solid chin, surviving those three hard knockdowns and going the distance. Most boxers in that division wouldn't have made it that far.

that's kinda what it looked like may happen until he scored the first kd. big first round with haney rocked, then garcia keeps losing rounds mostly going backwards and sometimes turning his back. whiney body language to the ref. but once he scored the knockdown, it buoyed him and he was able to keep hurting haney easier and easier.

The ref was awful. Shouldn't be allowed in the ring again, ban corrupt guys like him NOW.

One of the worst referee "performances" in the more recent history of boxing. No control of what's going on in the ring, Haney allowed to do whatever he wants, the ref literally said "thoses are legal punches" when Haney was hitting Garcia's backbone.

Bought him so much time, infinite holding and grabbing and then Garcia gets taken a point away for landing one punch right AFTER a clinch.

Well Haney might be better in the rematch and as Garcia completely lost his mind he will only deteriorate more. But overall this fight showed once again how much most "elite" and "pound for pound" boxing stars are overrated, driven by narratives and not their real capabilities in the ring. Haney is nothing, no credible win on his record, let's not forget he lost to a much smaller, old and injury prone Lomachenko. Yeah stupid boxing fans and media forget that more and more as time goes on after raging about that decision as it happened.

On the other hand, Haney didn't quit, that's what's keeping his career alive. He got beat up by a mental alcoholic one trick pony. That's your pound for pound star, boxing.

for all the talk of haney winning the rounds, and i agree even with the kds it was close, he rarely landed anything clean on garcia and mostly took rounds just because garcia hardly did anything

What a performance Garcia. Made a fan out of me tonight. I think that shows how good Tank is tbh. He dismantled a man who made what I believed to be a top 10 P4P fighter look ordinary. Possibly an off night for Haney, we have seen him look much better but unfortunately, he doesn't look as though his chin is elite.

It's unfair to say Haney doesn't have a good chin when he hasn't actually been stopped yet.

I can think of another boxer who has a reputation of having a great chin despite being put over multiple times often by guys a couple stone lighter than himself too

Haney seemed to struggle with Garcia's long left hook .. surprising really seeing as it's Garcia's primary punch.

I wanna see Garcia vs zepeda.

But would also love Ryan vs :

-loma
-shakur
- teo
-Josh Taylor
-matais
-Cruz (one I would dodge for Garcia stylistically)
-progras
-Benn
-Crawford
-spence
-boots
-barrios
-Rocha
-top 5 at 154…

Some are too small, some are too big, some are just right, but I think there is a catchweight/weight for a trillion fun fights over then next few years if he dosent go completly mental.
