Nice win Ryan! He did it! He proved us wrong!

Post by apollo creed »

This time Ryan was fighting in a bigger weight class and he was fully rehydrated. He is a big dude. He could compete at 147 or 154 with ease. Haney had found a well sized dance partner for him. :OhYes: :TU:

btw Ryan 'beat' the judges too.

Max DeLuca 112-112 ?? lol wtf

Tank would not ever fight this fully rehydrated of Ryan.

And to think about all the people crying “Ryan shouldn’t be boxing! He’s not well! His mental elf!” Etc

Who did Garcia actually prove wrong? What did he prove wrong?

Haney looked terrible, looked even worse than the ref in that ring and that's almost impossible. He got rocked in the first round just like Davis was against Garcia. You could say Garcia learned from the Tank fight and wasn't as reckless because of that but was he really? He also got rocked by a Haney left hook, the only good punch Haney landed in 12 rounds I can remember. The difference to Tank was the lack of power, skills and confidence from Haney.

Now does that mean Garcia proved "us" wrong? Maybe, if you fell for the hype. But who did that? Who really believed Haney was a pound for pound fighter with great skills? I certainly didn't. What did he do? He lost to a much smaller and old Lomachenko (who's injured all the time) and was gifted the win. What else? Best win was Prograis. Zorrilla should have a win against Prograis, too. Does that make him a pound for pound star, too? I don't think so.

The problem with boxing is that it is a completely media, promoter and narrative driven "sport". Referees are terrible, judges are terrible, most matchups are terrible, and you get Haney as a "pound for pound superstar" as a result.

An alcoholic crazy guy with fast hands and no discipline beat one of boxing's "pound for pound stars". He really beat him up, too. The sport should have zero credibility as an actual sport but enough stupid fans keep eating up the garbage.

I don't gamble, unlike those fake religious heathens Haney and Garcia.

Jokes aside, I obviously wasn't 100% sure Garcia would dominate Haney like that. But that's not the point. The point is we boxing fans are just stupid sheep in general and eat up whatever is presented to us. Haney has never shown sings of greatness IN THE RING. It's about time we stop believing the garbage promoters, managers, media and fighers say in front of microphones and pay attention to what happens in the ring instead.

Could say the same about all of those idiots claiming Fury is "the best heavyweight of the generation", maybe "ever". A man with two good names on his record. One of them turned was never regarded as an elite boxer and Fury ducked a rematch with the other one, an old man. Yet too many call Fury the best. The best talker, I'll give you that. But you can't be considered the best in the ring if you don't beat the best in the ring. All of them. Just another example.

I think the boxing public thought Garcia didn't train and was just there to take the pay cheque but it was quite the opposite. Maybe he cant make the weight anymore although I don't condone coming in so heavy on the scales. I think Garcia took this fight very seriously but was lacking some conditioning. He said post fight he wasn't in great shape but enough.

Sometimes styles makes fights. Garcia can crack and I guess looking at Haney previous fights he's been rocked on a couple of occasions. I think Haney deserves some credit for toughing it out albeit it was ugly to hold so much. He took a lot of punishment in this fight.

Credit to Garcia but I'm not entirely sold he can carry on this lifestyle in this game like he does. It'll be a short career for him unless he shapes up a bit.

There doesn't seem to be much condemnation of Garcia for not making the weight. Admittedly they both beefed up before the fight but the point is to be a professional you must make the weight. Respect the sport.

Garcia was playing smartly his ol' masquerade on social madia to attract more viewers but in real life he was training hard and he was dedicated. He is a smart man doing this type of marketing stunts.

Haney got whooped, period. Haters gonna cry.
