It’s not that bad. They’ll be getting paid what’s in their contract. If the other promoter wins the bid then they can take the fight across the road for more money (albeit would likely have to give their promoter 10%).

My DAZN membership is 24.99 EUR per month. I had to subscribe to buy the Fury vs Usyk PPV which was another 24.99 EUR.

The 5 vs 5 card is a PPV for 19.99 EUR. Where is that money going to? What are they doing with it? The sportswashing program of Saudi Arabia covers all the expenses already. It's a total rip-off.

I never even entertained the thought of two promoters with the same broadcaster. Does that make the cross-promo fights easier to make now? Will we get more channel 5 fight nights? Who do you pay your subs to, if you can’t get away with it?

Well, those who are contractually obliged to fight on a network won't have an excuse anymore so that would be worked out. Networks won't have to be involved in the negotiations as much. Especially considering the collaboration in the Saudi events you can see Hearn and Warren co-promoting much more. I don't see any negatives other than its an extra expense for those who already pay for Sky and TNT. I do also see this possibly leading to more UK PPVs on DAZN though...

Well, those who are contractually obliged to fight on a network won't have an excuse anymore so that would be worked out. Networks won't have to be involved in the negotiations as much. I've come to like DAZN - there's a lot of boxing shows now (some obscure, but we liked that about allegedly) and lots of other combat sports, including Bellator/PFL. The interface has been improved, it's much easier to watch stuff the next day without having the result spoiled and it runs well as an app via Sky Stream for me.

That said, I'm still not convinced it's the way forward for the big promotional companies. It's very anecdotal - but I occasionally look on boxing threads on Reddit - there was WAY more interaction on the Top Rank show that lost it's headliner than there was the Boots Ennis fight - and he's supposed to be a big name.

I have doubts that Eddie or Frank will be able to create stars on the platform. It's ok with the established names - Fury and Joshua etc, but can the next big British fighter be built on DAZN?

None of my casual mates subscribe - these are the guys who watch occasional fight nights on Sky and BT/TNT and who almost always shell out for the Sky PPV nights. The Sky machine can make stars - but can DAZN? As things stand, I doubt it.

I go on the Boxing sub quite frequently. Very mixed bag in terms of quality, but there's some decent knowledge on there tbf. The amount of traffic it gets is crazy compared to this forum, it's like the fast lane of a motorway vs cycling around a village green
