KingRy proved me wrong big time.
I thought this would be an EASY win for Haney and Garcia would quit after 7 or 8 rounds.

I had the fight scored 112-112 but imo the ref missed two legit knockdowns in the 7th so I feel like Garcia deserved the win plus it's always good to see a fighter win despite bad calls going against him.

I'm going to leave a KingRy prediction right here:

That utterly disgusting " shoulder roll" he has used in his last two fights?
Better described as straight up turning his back on the opponent.
As bad as it was yesterday.....it was actually better than his last fight.
I say he will keep working on that shoulder roll and when he is 32-33 years old we will be talking about his "great" shoulder roll and laughing about how bad it was when he first started using it.
Yeah that shoulder roll was funny. Surprised it was good enough to expose Haney. I had it 114-111 Garcia

De La Hoya is so unlikeable. I wouldn't want an immediate rematch but one down the line likely sells very well. Clearly has a personal grudge with Hearn aswell (and Europeans?) which could end up getting in the way of the fights that fans want.

I think the shoulder roll is in an early development stage.
And to be fair, it worked a few times on Haney who is a talented operator.

Yeah........that's pretty much what I said.

The first time he did it he was just blatantly turning his back on the opponent which is illegal.............and he did it enough to justify a DQ.

This time he rammed that shoulder into Haney a few times and seemed more comfortable in close.

At times it looked like Haney could be stopped.

After Haney came in at almost super-middle come fight night Vs Prograis last time when fighting for the 140lb title, I don't think making 140lb is of any importance.

We clearly are not watching a legitimate 140lb guy fight when Haney steps in the ring, so that Garcia didn't bother disguising that doesn't concern me a bit.

I loved the shocking upset as it is always great to see an underdog especially someone who behaves so erratically as Ryan did coming up to the fight. Im not sure if it would make a difference but people who have been involved in having to make a set weight know how weak you can get trying to make weight which Haney did, and how much of a physical advantage it can be not not have to worry about making the weight as Garcia did. Dont know if it would change the outcome as Garcia just seems more comfortable vs Haney than any other opponent I have ever seen agains Haney.

But that is a farce - the title is about the best 140lb boxers .. neither guys fought at anywhere close to that weight.

Putting on close to 2 stone before you step into the ring to fight is totally not natural or normal - it screams they are cheating to gain an unfair advantage.

Don't have a dog in this fight , i actually like and dislike things abut both boxers , However to me its clear Garcia won , , there were knockdowns , that were not scored , bad refereeing , but what evened it up was Garcia consistently turned his back and got away with it , points should of been took once again bad refereeing .

But the loss , facts are everyone can jump up and down that Haney piles weight on , and comes in big , but guess what thats what boxers do , its part of the game , and haney when all said and done MADE WEIGHT .

Garcia well wether he could and just did'nt want too or he could'nt does'nt matter he NEVER made weight , so technicly you had a catchweight fight , one Haney got paid extra for and Garcia got the win .

Now i've read Oscar talking about Garcia staying at 143-144 , well Oscar should know thats not a weight division so he wants Garcia to be the weight bully , we all know guys stripping down to make 147 ish a lot will kill themselves to make 143 -144 , that extra couple pounds being too much ,

Its gonna be interesting for Garcia , Haney well has long has he can make the weight can stay where he is , Garcia though whats he gonna do , demand that the 140 guys come up and fight him where he's just gonna be too big hit too hard at that weight , or demand the 147 guys come down to 143 to face him , , because one thing i'm sure of this new found shoulder roll he's using will not work against the bigger guys , , he will either get pinged for turning his back once theres a ref with balls to do it , or he'll get stopped by the bigger punchers and end up pissing blood for a week .

Haney well he's still champ , Garcia is gonna need new dance partners and theres some heavy hitters out there ,
