You can't say the things he said and not expect there to be comeback.
Re: Ryan Garcia allegedly fails PED test
I now feel vindicated in my dislike for him.
A very good fighter, but his attitude stinks.

Re: Ryan Garcia allegedly fails PED test
Just watching Hearn's IFL interview from the last few days. He says the New York commision are the best for dealing with these things in his experience and it reminded me that when Joe Cusumano tested positive on one of his shows after beating Adam Kownacki they contacted Matchroom and said we've been alerted about the positive test, we're now investigating and dealing with it.
I checked Cusumano's record and sure enough the NYSAC changed the result to a no contest a few weeks back.
It may well take another 6-9 months for the result to change but I'd guess unless he gets the positive test overturned this will be a no contest.

He got unlucky getting caught, let's be honest I'd say at least 70% of would champions are at it.
Re: Ryan Garcia allegedly fails PED test
You know if you swear all the time it loses its meaning , and this is whats happenning , so many are getting caught and recieving minimal bans , fines ect ect . its all lost its meaning ,
Not until they start giving mandatory bans no if buts or maybees , but BIG BANS , plus all purses held in Escrow until the boxers have been cleared , , then if it comes out like this has , Purse confiscated , half payed to the other fighter who was cheated on half too whoever , and put it in the contract don't sign the contract don't fight , , unless the penelty fits the crime its always going to be worh a gamble , just make sure its not worth the gamble

Re: Ryan Garcia allegedly fails PED test
We've seen with Benn, Canelo and Fury how those at the top of the sport can pretty much get away with blatant illegal PED use.
Sadly it's no surprise Garcia has popped for this - it wouldn't be surprised if Haney had too.

Because they're all on PEDs (not just boxers) and someone decides who to drop the dime on and who not to.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 05:00ya mean they faked the positive tests because he called out the nwo globalists? or something else

The system is a joke, fighters sign up for testing and then when they fail just scream it's wrong or a stitch up.

Yes but that's only because they get away with it and can carry on fighting. Lets see how the Garcia thing pans out but I imagine he will get away with it as he is a big money spinner. What I didn't realise was the drug he failed for (ostarine) is apparently found in some supplements and not listed on the label. So people can potentially consume these and not realise however there are other brands that are deemed safe for fighters so there's no excuse for top fighters to use other types of supplements.Frostieballs wrote: ↑06 May 2024, 10:39It’s partly our fault, because we keep watching proven cheats….Controversial wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 07:51 The system is a joke, fighters sign up for testing and then when they fail just scream it's wrong or a stitch up.
Re: Ryan Garcia allegedly fails PED test
If this is true it’s scumbag behaviour.
Coming in over weight and “ef it, I’ll pay a fine”
Haney should have refused to go ahead. Laudable he didn’t in terms of bravery. In the grand scheme of things maybe a little naive.
This whole thing stinks and the mist being layered over this by RG’’s vitriol is even worse.
Sport not in a good place.

Re: Ryan Garcia allegedly fails PED test
I think the big mistake was Haney not enforcing something weight related onto Garcia. He was obviously up against it money wise losing 1.5million or so (allegedly) Haney could probably have said look we'll make it 1million but you have to weigh in right now stripped to your kegs and weigh in no heavier in 3 hours time stripped to your kegs, or set a weight limit for 9am the following morning. Eddie Hearn said when he saw how big Garcia was across the ring he thought they were up against it.
Ultimately even with the peds and the weight Garcia wasn't miles and miles ahead of Haney come the final bell, had he been a few lbs lighter and more tired as a result of the weight this would have likely got Haney over the line and we'd be talking about a loser having lost with the peds.

Re: Ryan Garcia allegedly fails PED test
Maybe Haney thought he could still take Garcia even with the extra weight?
It's a lot of money for him to fight, and add the extra 1.5mil from Garcia.
It would be hard to turn down if a guy has the overwhelming confidence to win. Leading up to the fight a firm majority of boxing experts said Haney was the favourite.
Maybe he would have won if Garcia was just heavy, and not roided up the wazoo and back?
All the claimed advantages the drugs he was popped for were things he exhibited in the fight.

excellent points. If it looks like PEDS and pops like PEDS, it is very likely PEDS.KiwiRider wrote: ↑07 May 2024, 16:59 Maybe Haney thought he could still take Garcia even with the extra weight?
