If he starches him in under a minute then it’s the first time Hughie has legitimately stopped someone in donkeys years.
We know Hughie can go rounds he needs some knockout victories.

That's the same as so many guys in the game right now. Talking about what they can do and not proving it. Fans won't get on your side until they believe in what they see.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 17:32you make a good point. if he is going to fight awful opponents ok, but shut up about fighting AJ etc.stevec@france wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 09:42 its like he is a newbie all over again at the start of his career which is fair enough .

Entirely agree - and I wish Hughie all the best, he's shown courage fighting good people early on, which shows he can and should be coming back at a faster/better rate than this.joshj909 wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 09:44That's the same as so many guys in the game right now. It's a difficult situation, Hughie isn't that good at self promotion, unfortunately. The highlighted more by the fact Tyson and Big John are.
Usually in that situation, boxer's let their actions in the ring promote them - like GGG, or the Krusher before they could speak English well enough to do decent interviews.

valid point re self promotion, it is a big factor and he does lack that. I do hope he starts to fight with some spite in future, that will help.KiwiRider wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 16:24 It's a difficult situation, Hughie isn't that good at self promotion, unfortunately. Peter Fury reveals son Hughie has been promised a big fight in October or November
Speaking exclusively to SportsBoom, Peter Fury says his son Hughie is the heir apparent to Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua and cousin Tyson after warning heavyweight boxing is in danger of going “stale.”
Aged 29, Hughie Fury is preparing for his third fight since overcoming a series of health issues after being named on the card of a show in Sheffield next month.
Although Tyson and Usyk will meet again in Saudi Arabia on December 21 after the Ukrainian won their initial encounter for the undisputed crown earlier this year – three months after Joshua faces new IBF champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium – Peter, who is overseeing Hughie’s comeback, thinks the sport’s most glamorous division needs another fabled fighter to emerge.
With Usyk, Tyson and Joshua all in their 30s, Peter insisted Hughie is perfectly positioned to spearhead a new generation of big men.
Speaking exclusively to SportsBoom.com he said: “I think it’s gone stale. People are looking for fresh blood.
“I’m very excited because it’s time for us to step into that mix and get it on with them.
“Once we’ve got this fight out of the way, we’ve been promised a big fight towards the end of October or November. Hughie is going to start his full assault towards the end of this year.”
Big fights on the horizon
Suggesting Hughie has the pedigree to force himself onto one of Turki Alalshikh’s Riyadh Season shows, Peter continued: “A lot of people see the same fighters fighting off against each other. So, it’s good to see fresh fights getting made.
“The more people in the mix, the better. The more the Saudis have got involved, the more these top-drawer fights are happening so, when I say stale, I mean the heavyweights need fresh people in them.”
“Not just the same four or five and Hughie will very quickly be in and amongst them.”
Joe Joyce’s conqueror Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole, who recently stunned the previously unbeaten Jared Anderson on Turki Alalshikh’s first overseas show, have all been mooted as possible future opponents for Hughie.
Based in Manchester, he has won both of his outings since receiving the all-clear to box again after solving the allergy problem which forced him to spend nearly three years out of the ring.
Hughie, who lost a split decision to then WBO king Joseph Parker at the beginning of his professional career, has recorded 28 wins from 31 professional outings with 16 of those victories coming inside the distance.
Higher-ranked opponents only
“Whatever the promoters want to put on and can afford to put on, we’ll take,” said Peter, who trained Tyson to his world title triumph over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.
“Okay, the ones at the very top are all tied up in fights at the moment but if they do become available, then we’ll take them.”
“We don’t want the ones who are behind Hughie, who are trying to build their careers. We want the ones who are up there.”
“It’s all in God’s timing,” Peter added. “Whatever happens, you accept it for what it is and get on with it.”
“Hughie has ironed out all of his issues, which were mainly to do with allergies, and is totally focused.”
“It’s not as if he’s been laid down doing nothing for three years either. We’ve had a couple of warm-up fights, and the engine is well oiled. “
“People are about to find out just how good Hughie is.”

Re: Hughie Fury Comeback Date Announced
Hughie needs to fight a high level prospect, he's proven three times he's not good enough to face a world level contender in the top 5-10 yet he hasn't proven that he can beat anyone in the top 25. Peter still looks at leapfrogging that essential learning curve for Hughie which means he's going to lose every single time he steps up. Instead of Zhang and Bakole who should be looking at top 10 opponents, Turki should chuck Hughie in against the likes of Makhmudov, Hunter, Whyte, Chisora, Wallin, Sanchez, Gassiev, Ajagba, Huni, Anderson, Hrgovic, Wardley, Clarke, Jalolov, or even an unbeaten "prospect" in the top 50 like Torrez, Pero, Larduet, Zakhozhyi or Sirenko.

Will we finally see him throw a straight right hand properly now he's sorted his allergies out?

Martin Bakole couldn’t self promote himself well either and even had a very damaging loss on his record but managed to get himself back in the mix a bit at a time by taking tough fights in the road
I don’t see Hughie being willing to do what Bakole did, nor having what it takes to get the wins Bakole has done.

Probably the most exciting fighter in the division. Not everyone's cup of tea. But watching Fury pick apart an opponent is a bit like watching a chess match. I haven't seen a heavyweight like him since Freddie Flintoff was terrorising the division.
Re: Hughie Fury Comeback Date Announced
Hughie is just biding his time and holding off until Tyson retires and he will be undisputed and can have all the glory

just a wee lad hughie, not even near his prime yet
Re: Hughie Fury Comeback Date Announced
With Hughie I get the impression that he doesn’t like boxing and he’s just doing it because it’s essentially the family business and it’s expected of him.

Hughie needs a mouth piece. A WWF style manager with a megaphone. It's alright to be quiet, if you're knocking everyone out, but when your personality and your style both put people to sleep, you're in trouble.

Even though he's the only boxer in his immediate family, they run several non boxing related businesses and his dad repeatedly says he makes no money in boxing and is only in it because of his son?
