I think so. I think he also has enough pop to make beter b think too.

Bivol is such a weird fighter. I swear he is just ok at everything. Like honestly his footwork is basic, punch selection basic, power is standard, speed is standard…

He fights so standard i don’t know id I can even see high ring IQ, cause he hardly does anything complicated enough that requires thinking (I’m sure he makes incredible reads and sets subtle traps but there so basic/subtle I can’t notice)

Bivol just seems to have great timing and a good eye. And he throws the punches he throws with good technique and rarely makes mistakes.

I think he is the best fighter I have ever seen without a single easy to spot attribute making him elite.

excellent timing and judge of distance + good in most other areas. no pronounced weaknesses. even power i think is more a style thing, he scores plenty of kds.

so there's hard to find much to exploit. so far it's looked like the best chance to beat him would be someone who can seriously hustle and perhaps squeak a decision if he comes in uninspired. but he's delivered in his biggest fights, so uninspired unlikely to apply here

Make no mistake. Bivol has a decent pop too and Beterbiev is not an iron chined-tough face fighter. Bivol should outbox the older Beterbiev but we also know that Beterbiev has kryptonite type of power even in his short punches and he can fight too.

Bivol seems to be like a modern day Gene Tunney, unspectacular but oh so correct.

This looks like our version of Dempsey v Tunney.

Usually the better boxer wins, but I'm still rooting for Beterbiev.

I think Bivol just does everything so well seems so well balanced he just makes the technical stuff look basic , his range , and distancing is superb
But then again you could say the same about Bieterbiew ,, and this is why i can't wait , a real top class fight for the lovers of proper boxing .

Who's gonna win , would'nt have a clue , but pushed into a corner i'm saying THE GUY WHO \'S SURNAME STARTS WITH A B

Bivol doesn't make mistakes and doesn't have any glaring weaknesses. Footwork and movement looks good while his fundamentals are up there with the best of them in my opinion. He's above average at everything. Doesn't seem to take too many risks that he doesn't need to take either. Most other boxers are good at some things while not being good at other things which leaves them open to be exploited.

Bivol's footwork, defense, boxing skills and speed are stellar. Who thinks he is basic , is probably trippin' or trollin'. :OhYes:

Beterbiev's power and cutting off the ring technique are stellar too.

It’s basic, not bad, Mabey amazing, but basic.

He dosent cut crazy angles, shuffle, switch stance, step round, or any of that. Just has his feet under him balanced. In and out well, but not much flashy shit.

Standard footwork? No way. The guy is on another level. That's what let's him create the perfect distance

Yup. I'd to see Bivol having a stay-busy fight and then fight Buatsi or Benavidez if Artur will stay off the ring for a big period of time.

"A meniscus injury can take a long time to get better. A mild meniscus tear – especially for younger people – can get better in about four to twelve weeks. But for older people – and unfortunately, I'm referring here to anyone over the age of 35 – it can usually takes three to six months, but often even longer."

Saying Bivol just does everything ok and only has basic footwork is the most absurd thing I've ever read. Bivol has excellent footwork and maybe the best jab in all of boxing. Have you even watched him fight before?

Oh, people were saying that stuff about when he signed to fight Canelo too. "He doesn't look so great, what's he gonna do that will trouble Canelo?"

When i say Ok im not saying he is a scrub.. I am saying its the basics but obviously done incredibly well. and dosent to my eye have any really obvious standout features (other than the things you cant really see, like a good eye and good timing.)...

you disagree, thinking he has one of the best jabs in boxing. Thats fair... but to that i would say even his jab is an incredibly good but basic medium jab.... Its not a lightning fast flashy but weak jab... its not a heavy thudding jab. its a medium pace, medium power jab (done incredibly well).

To be clear i probably have him top 5 pound for pound. I recognise that he is brilliant. but i kinda stand by he is brilliant in a basic way without having any super stand out traits. probably shows in his lack of good stoppage wins... most of the really really good guys even if they are not punchers will get a few class stoppage wins just from being so so so fvcking good and overwhelming/demoralising there opponent.

Basic is not bad. lot of top pros does not have that basic footwork. You can see Bivols type of footwork in majority of amateurs. Bivol can just do it for 12 rounds, which is extraordinary. Basic boxing skills with minimum mistakes like Bivol have + probably best stamina in today boxing + speed + toughness = undisputed champ. I dont think people said that "basic" word in negative way

I see your point :salut:

Let's put it another way.
I'd think most of us know how good Bivol is, he has a stellar reputation and has been a regular top ten pound for pound boxer for years.
He has serious respect don't worry about that.
When we look for overall solid all rounders he fits that category perfectly.
He's a modest guy and doesn't do the limelight thing too often but shows up for work every day and get's in done.
The criticism towards his skills maybe frustrating to argue, because amongst all of his skills not one stands out individually like a straight right, a jab, good blocking on defence, timing or something else.
But put them together at the same time and he beats almost everybody

The Russians are different because a lot of their boxers come from different areas of the country with different mentalities and styles.
Nathan Cleverly decided to take on Kovalev too early and paid a price for it
