At the moment despite being a Uysyk fan …. I am starting to think this is going to be an ugly fight and Tyson is going to smother Uysyk’s work and tie him up and the fight is going to be dull.

At the moment Fury SD … this will ensure. Fight 2
I’m sort of with you there Spud but,
If this comes to pass
I’ll be very disappointed

Gotta be a decisive victory. Not a snooze fest a la Wlad v Fury.

I think Fury will win, somehow, the somehow I'm not sure of yet.
At first I though Fury could win it how he wants, either using his length to box or his size to maul.

Now I'm still thinking he wins, but he will need to do it on the inside.

First thing first, hopefully the fight takes place!

Actually, the time is more on the Usyk's side, as the poll shows. More people change it for Usyk, but majorly because of the dislike of Fury's lack of the activity and picking more marketable bouts.

Well, with showing up in the sh1tty shape against Ngannou, Fury indeed forced his credibility to be questioned, but I still pick Fury to win.

A wise boxing man once said to me that you can pick most fights by studying the form line.

It’s unravelling for Fury - and not just because of Ngannou.

Usyk, mid to late rounds.

I think Usyks gonna go for Fury , On the way in Hit ,him hard and hit him fast , its been proven FURY CAN BE HURT ... Once in there Fury will maul hold , and rabbit punch , possibly getting a point or two took away , On the outside Usyk will use movement and speed to make Fury miss , lunge , and try to hold , where fury will get hit with counters ,, rinse repeat do it all again , Usyk will also be in Furys head ,

Usyk will be the master , Fury will turn into a wrestler ,

Thats all you can really do when making an unbiased pick.

Fury has looked pretty bad for the last couple of years and his chin looks less sturdy too. Added to the fact he has not had a serious challenge that would prepare him for a top challenger as Usyk in that time also.

Whilst Usyk has beaten AJ x2 and a strong (if limited) Dubois in the same time frame.

Usyk points, or Fury getting himself disqualified if its looking like Usyk is about to stop him.

Kovalev fighting for the first time in two years.
He must just love the sport because surely he can't need the money they pay that far down the bill?

Hopefully people see itamus opponents pretty record and think it will go rounds… cause I’ll be betting round 1 KO. He isn’t super dooper terrible but he is Undersized, upright, and a bit timid… I think he is there to be bulldozed.

Press Release

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), has revealed a thrilling undercard for the ‘Ring of Fire’ first undisputed heavyweight clash of the 21st century between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, which will include a further two world title fights.

The highly-anticipated event with unprecedented interest from across the globe is set to take place on Saturday May 18 at Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, and forms part of the Riyadh Calendar schedule.

The undefeated Australian Jai Opetaia, who triumphed against Ellis Zorro at the ‘Day of Reckoning’ in December, will take on three-time cruiserweight world champion Mairis Briedis for the IBF world championship and Ring Magazine belt in a rematch of their exhilarating July 2022 encounter when Opetaia claimed the belts by overcoming the celebrated Latvian fighter.

Undefeated Welsh Olympian Joe Cordina will defend his IBF world super featherweight championship against IBO title holder, Northern Irishman Anthony Cacare, with the heavyweight theme being bolstered by the unbeaten German star Agit Kabayel going up against unbeaten Cuban Frank Sanchez as both return to Riyadh following their knockout victories on the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in December in a WBC Final Eliminator.

UK lightweight sensation Mark Chamberlain will also be heading back to The Kingdom after proving to be a major hit on his opening night in Riyadh. The big punching 25-year-old featured at ‘Knockout Chaos’ in March and will now face the dangerous Nigerian Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab. In another significant attraction, Sergey Kovalev – the former long-standing light heavyweight world champion - will go up against the undefeated Robin Sirwan Safar at cruiserweight.

Formidable young heavyweight star Moses Itauma, the World Amateur champion, who is tipped to become the future face of boxing’s marquee division, takes on Ilja Mezencev in his ninth fight in the professional ranks at the age of just 19. New Zealand Olympian David Nyika faces Michael Seitz at cruiserweight and English featherweight Isaac Lowe is matched with Hasibullah Ahmadi.

An excellent article on how to combat PEDS in boxing by the always excellent Thomas Hauser.

Is there any VADA testing for the Fury vs Uysk fight (and the undercard)? It's the premier fight in boxing so presumably there is.

Yes!
I've been watching the training clips Uysk has up on youtube, and he is swarming in and out lookin quick, slippery and mean..
Fury can be a right octopus when he wants to tie a guy up though.
I just hope they fight, and things like excessive holding or a cut doesn't play a part. Been too long a wait man!!

I don’t think there is, but it would be nice if one of the YouTube bods could ask Warren during fight week.
