Maybe it’s Garcia last weekend with the upset, maybe it’s the Bivol performance, maybe it’s the Ryder comparisons but I’m having a flutter on Jaime. I’m not convinced it happens but I like the look of 8s for KO/TKO. The wheels will fall off eventually.

Having said that, style-wise, a big unit who comes straight at you and relies on his durability is perfect for Saul. Canelo always likes it when they come to him

The Mexican rivals will fight at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, on the occasion of Cinco de Mayo weekend, after Alvarez, 33 and the defending champion, weighed in at 166.8 pounds – 1.2 under the super-middleweight limit – and Munguia came in at 167.4 pounds.

Mung is just so huge. Alvarez did the same draining, I know. Didn't appreciate the Derev scorecards either.

For a long shot underdog facing one of the all-time greats, who looks close to unbeatable, I think Munguia has a decent chance here doesn’t he?

High output and a great chin, height and reach advantages, he could pull this off. If only cause Canelo is getting old now .. Big problem though is that the close rounds will go to Alvarez, and there could be a lot of those

Oscar is a sick deviant scumbag. However Mungia seems like a very humble and respectful dude.

I'll be cheering him on cos I got big money on him winning by stoppage :box:

I think so. Maybe I only put a tenner on him, but I think it's possible.
He is also tougher than your Plant, Smith or BJS.
It isn't the fight everyone wants, but it is still very decent opposition in a division Canelo has already cleaned out the top shelf.

No. He might win the last few rounds IF he's still around, due to Canelos gas tank not being great. But I would be very suprised if Munguia hasn't been absolutely mullered by the half way point. He doesn't have the defence to cope here for me. He is very leaky when he is throwing. I think this is a 3-4 round job for Canelo based on the styles. He has a good chin but he takes punches. Derevyanchenko had him visibly shaky on several occasions. I also don't think he likes body shots. Munguia is too basic. He's either on offence or hes on attack. He's too reliant on the left hook, which is inferior to Canelos hook. He has a habit of throwing combinations and looks leaky doing it.

I think it's one of those fights that will be very easy to see why Munguia got mullered in hindsight.
