Wasn't expecting that start on a Monday afternoon
Bit like canelo opponent other night too complacent and got nailed
Shades of Hamed Kelly going to happen?

Great fight dangerous times, but he seems to be breaking him down, good chin on the bad ass Mexican
Still dangerous, he’s gotta be careful

You can tell Inoue is feeling his oats with the little footwork flourishes.

Am I remembering Nery wrong or isn’t he normally a fvckton more aggressive than this? Inoue just makes people keep their hands at home
Re: Naoya Inoue vs. Luis Nery | Sky Sports - 6 May 2024

inoue pretty careless swinging like he did in close quarters with nery. maybe too amped up. the kd was good for him arguably tbh, after that his boxing was super sharp and on point. nery broken quickly from there

Thanks to Boxing Prospect, formerly of this parish and don of East Asian boxing, for putting me on to Inoue from the start. It’s been great to see the journey from the start, but really, it all looked mapped out the first time I saw him, none of this has surprised me much at all.

Re: Naoya Inoue vs. Luis Nery | Sky Sports - 6 May 2024
Very nearly sh1t myself when Nery knocked Inoue down in the 1st, Inoue caught with a left while exchanging, didn't look hurt but a pretty big KD, that pissed Inoue off and he proceeded to beat the breaks off Nery for the next 5 rounds, put Nery down with a nice left hook in the 2nd, lovely step to the side before hooking, after that it was target practice, Inoue walked him down using the jab, pinged his head back constantly with rights, Nery couldn't get out of the way and his own offence was sparse, Inoue had him down again in the 5th sweet left hook on the ropes, it was as of someone pulled a rug from out of Nery's feet, you knew the end was near sure enough next round Nery was getting pieced up and a huge right ended things, Inoue brilliant again his punches just hit different, even the bread and butter ones

top rank has 2 champs at 126, lopez and 6 foot tall espinoza, so he can get some pretty easy to make title fights there id imagine
not sure how much he wants to push it though size wise
could a size bully like brandon 'face catcher' figureroa just work rate spam and smother him?
