2 things fascinated me about Johansson
Firstly, how can someone with quite a cautious boxing style punch so hard, and secondly how did a country like Sweden, not noted for its professional game produce a heavyweight champion
I started my research and became engrossed, particularly after learning how his own country officials publicly humiliated him after the 1952 Olympics.
Anyway, I've produced a short book on his career entitled ONE PUNCH WAS ALL IT TOOK- THE INGEMAR JOHANSSON STORY.

I don't know about that one, but certainly in the Gothenburg area he's still known as INGO even by young people and looked upon as an icon
