It wouldn't surprise me if the peaceful folks at The Blue Oyster banned him for this violent act.

I strongly fancied Usyk to win this for a while, but lack of VADA testing and the shape Fury appears to be in is making me less confident.

Tyson Fury interview.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - 18 May 2024
Does anyone know which commission is commissioning the card this weekend? I assumed it would BBBoC but cannot see anything under their schedule online?

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - 18 May 2024
is there any testing ?
I thought the wbc always insisted on it for world title fights
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - 18 May 2024
I'm pretty sure there is, but testing doesn't start until the fight is signed. Not announced, not advertised, signed.stevec@france wrote: ↑14 May 2024, 12:27is there any testing ?

Either way, it won't matter, Fury's gonna be all over him, break him down and stop him.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - 18 May 2024
Hold a gun to my head for a prediction and I’m going with Usyk all day long, and have felt that way for quite some time.
But Fury is still a big awkward lump, who won’t just stand around waiting to get twatted. It’s fair to say his chances can only have improved since the original fight date.

They have some bullshit Clean Boxing Program, but that falls miles short of the proper VADA testing, which it doesn’t look like they have for this one.stevec@france wrote: ↑14 May 2024, 12:27is there any testing ?

I don't expect Fury to survive to hear the final bell.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - 18 May 2024
I've got a strange feeling that Usyk is going to take center ring and really push the pace from the third round.

I expect a robbery. Fury is at the Canelo stage of entering each fight with a 3 round head start

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - 18 May 2024
I don't see that happening unless Fury is really shot. Despite the fact he's not always looked in the best shape, Fury has good powers of recovery, and has always had very good stamina. The only way Usyk stops him is if either Fury's punch resistance has completely gone, or he runs out of gas badly, and hard to see either happening.
I think it will be a fairly close one, and could be difficult to score, if Fury turns it into a mauling scrap.
I'm going for usyk though he may be on the end of a debatable decision.

I suppose Fury might end up just losing every round for a shutout, but probably at this stage he should be getting stopped.

Usyk will win 9 rounds or stop him.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑14 May 2024, 16:31I don't see that happening unless Fury is really shot. Well, hopefully we're a few days from finding out.
I'd be surprised if he was stopped, Usyk's not heavy handed at heavyweight, and he doesn't usually go for the stoppage.
One thing is, there's no dog in Fury, he certainly won't capitulate meekly.

I've no idea how this will play out, I keep changing my mind!
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - 18 May 2024
100% agree. Fury has shown a lot of guts and grit. He'll give it his all, but he's a high mileage vehicle. He's just been decked by a zero fight novice. Usyk's going to dominate this fight.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑14 May 2024, 16:58 One thing is, there's no dog in Fury, he certainly won't capitulate meekly.

I think the Zero fight novice is a little misleading, I mean NGannou knows how to punch.jwfg wrote: ↑14 May 2024, 17:07100% agree. Fury has shown a lot of guts and grit. I think more the worry, was the fact that Fury's timing looked really bad, he didn't seem to be able to find the gaps for his own shots, and was off the pace the entire fight.
I remember a quote by holyfield, I think it was one of the fights he had after Valuev, near the tail end of his career and he said something along the lines of "I can still see the gaps, but I just can't pull the trigger quick enough, and by the time I do, it's gone."
That's what happens to fighters as they age, especially ones who haven't lived the life.

What's the odds on a draw? Worth 20 quid I'm sure
