Sherif was an old club mate of mine. What a genuinely great guy he was.. RIP

What a tragedy, the poor guy. So unusual for something like this to happen relatively early in a fight round 4…

Gonna listen to Terry’s pod tonight. With a heavy heart. This is a sport. Sometimes in sport there is tragedy. Bless you Sherif and your family. RIP.

Incredibly sad. RIP.
I note he was a top amateur, but sometimes I do wonder if amateurs going straight into 6x3's can be a little too demanding.
I've watched several 6x3 debutants and there have been occasions where I've thought in the moment that it seems a lot to ask when a boxer is struggling (I'm assuming it was 3 minute rounds as opposed to 2 minutes rounds).
I suppose this particular type of tragedy is extremely rare, but we should always be looking at safety first (and I'm not attaching any blame to anyone).
