Harry would come out with comments that stick in your mind for years.

When Bruno walloped Mike Jamieson (which was an impressive result) in America, Harry said something similar to "and Bruno has just shown the American public what he can do with a punch". Carpenter was class !

I noticed that comment from the Bruno video I watched. I link here to Harry saying that specific comment. Perhaps this video might be of enjoyment to Bruno and Harry fans, although one thing I found offputting was the amount of bums Bruno fought. My word he fought some overmatched opposition. He must have gotten chinned already in sparring or before turning pro because they certainly took very few chances with the matchmaking.

Getting a bit naused by the anti Bruno cr@p over the years .
He was brought up like most prospects.
First loss v Bonecrusher who he pretty much dominated until the 10th and final round. Don’t forget Smith beat Tim (a freak one that) to win a version and went a distance with Tyson quite easily tbf.
Then Frank takes on Tim W for the title- valiant loss.

We could go on.

Frank showed more balls than most.

Had one hell of a chin. Plus an amazing jab. Sadly at the upper tier the right hand didn’t land enough.

Good video of Bruno's career

It also reminds me of the support Bruno received in so many of his fights. A hugely popular boxer.

Maybe a bit of middle ground needed when assessing Bruno's opposition He fought & beat some decent foes...and had his fair share of less than threatening opponents.

The thing with Bruno's power was that it could quickly extinguish the lesser opponent's ambition as soon as he started knocking them around the ring. Frank wasn't one for messing about !

Perhaps I was a bit harsh actually on second thought. The likes of Bill Sharkey and Chuck Gardiner came to mind. Both got absolutely polaxed by Frank but as Butch said in the post below yours, Brunos power really made the overmatched fights stand out as he didn't come to get rounds in. I think he should have taken his time perhaps, as he seemed to have the problem of pacing himself as he moved up in class. I was very impressed by Frank after watching him. His career came before my time. He looked difficult to outbox. He was outjabbing and outboxing Lewis and seemed to have that fight under control until he hurt Lewis in the 7th and then showed a very very bad piece of fight IQ to follow Lewis to the corner I thought. No need to do it when you're winning from range and hurting Lewis. I can see why he gained a following as he seemed to have mega power coupled with fragility - a must watch.

Keep in mind the Lewis fight could have been stopped any time if it had started raining and Frank would have won on the scorecards so it's not like Lewis was letting Frank win the rounds. Not to mention Lewis was wobbled.

Frank didn't seem to like Harrys questioning after the Jesse Ferguson fight and they had somewhat of an argument in the ring and then he was never covered by Harry again I believe. I hope they were still on good terms after that. For what it's worth I thought Harry was in the wrong in that interview. Ferguson was clearly all over the place.

Harry wasn't impressed with Ferguson from the get-go, he was referring to him as Big Jessie during the commentary. I suspect the BBC were probably running out of love for Bruno since the Lewis fight went to Sky.

But as has already been said, if you were a poor to decent fighter getting into the ring with Bruno, you had better look out, because he didn't suffer fools gladly.

I saw Big Frank at West Ham last week, immaculately turned out and looking nothing like 62.
