Re: Unusual Fight Locations
Alberto Davila defended his world bantamweight title on Miami Beach back in 1984 and took a beating from Enrique Sanchez of the Dominican Republic. Sanchez can't miss the ageing Davila, a veteran of 55 fights, but suddenly a thunderstorm in round seven revitalises Davila, who drives himself forward to force a thrilling stoppage in the eleventh.

Terry Lawless had a holiday home in Marbella and that's how it came to be. Lawless used to manage Honeyghan but passed him on to Mickey Duff because Honeyghan wouldn't toe the line in the gym. Nevertheless, he still had a third of the fighter financially along with Duff and Jarvis Astaire. (Mike Barrett dropped out of the Cartel after the Frank Bruno-Chuck Gardner fiasco.)
Bruno fought Reggie Gross on the Marbella bill.

Scott took on Qawi and the likes of Gregory, Kates, Lopez and Martin inside the prison and you don't get the 'feel' of the setting, in my opinion. However, he battled our own Bunny Johnson in the prison grounds, with the prison wall in the background and it's an amazing spectacle.

I remember Larry Holmes fighting Tom Prater on the battleship in the US Title Tournament that went down the tubes in the Ring Magazine ratings scandal.
A lot of Sean O' Grady's and Tony "KO" Gardner's early fights were held at the "Red Carpet Inn" hotel in Oklahoma City and it looked on tape like they were in a tiny banquet hall surrounded by conventioners. Looked really strange to me.
