Will Tyson come back?

Post by deadpan »

The talk of "no man born of..." is laid to rest. That discussion of beating Ali, Foreman, Lewis etc is in the ashes. He lost to a 'middleweight.'

That will HURT. And he's clearly in decline.

Is he done?

Take nothing away from Usyk mate, Fury looked like Fury to me, he lost to the better man and thats it.

The road forward is a bad one for him, he won't react well to this. Who knows, I hope not.

I think he should have retired a couple of years ago but if he does - that's when the problems are going to start.

What is he coming back to at his age, sure, he could have a rematch with Uysk but if he loses to him again, his mental state will deteriorate even more... what he needs is therapy and a few years away from Morecambe and living somewhere sunny and warm where he can get his head right (without easy access to cocaine....) fornicate knows where that place is but he needs it badly.

I remember he had a party to watch Usyk vs AJ and afterwards shared a bunch of videos "They're both shite! I'd beat them both on the same night"

Ngannu... apparently he could "drink 100 pints" and still beat him.

The reality is he's not very good, he got to where he is on his size alone. A giant ogre of a man. If it wasn't for a 40+ lb difference he wouldn't even be in the same league as Usyk.

Hopefully it’s the end. Usyk has beaten them all. He can walk away and Fury will never accept it…

Unlikely.

Watching him post fight, he's in denial about losing. Once the denial turns into acceptance he will start getting out of shape again and lose interest.

I doubt he'll be as fit enough in an October rematch. He would have to be in the gym from next month onward.

Fury should fight usyk again. It’s. No loss situation, either he wins and is back to “best of a generation” claims, or he loses and he is right where he is just 50+ million richer.

That was clear enough for me. And usyk is 37… so my My perfect world would be. Usyk retire on top.

Then…
AJ vs Fury for the WBC belt (pay off kab)
Parker vs kab for the WBO belt.
DDD vs hrg for the IBF belt
Bakole vs wilder/zhang winner for the WBA belt
(Or any better combination, you get the idea)
And start the alfebet soup game again.

Get the prospects rumbling bellow as contenders so the next lot of olympians can come in and be prospects, bring Jai up from cruiserweight… division in bliss.

He will come back, will fancy his chances to win a rematch, I don't think he will, Usyk is just that bit more special.

Considering the size difference, incredible performance from Usyk.

Decline?
I thought that was the best he has been since he befuddled Wlad.
He won rounds, was bossing the fight from 4-8 looking in control, Joshua never looked like that in either fight.
Right now, I think that was the closest any guy would get to beating the best fighter in a decade.

He looked pretty good to me, he fought well, but couldn't stop Usyk who was relentless. Usyk always adjusts and did so here.

tbh im surprised he's still fighting

seems like the type who lets things get to him and woulda been happy enough with all the weight off his shoulders that come with boxing. has loads of money to live off and laze to his hearts content

but he's still here and he got himself in shape for this one, so maybe gets that drive still. he was frustrated with losing but didnt seem unravalled or distraught. i would think he'd fight again if a rematch is already done, but who knows what he'll feel when the dust settles a bit and he has time to think

There is a train of thought that Fury was always hopeless and the Usyk loss has now just proved that beyond reasonable doubt

Naaah.
No one in the HW division would have come that close to winning.
The Fury that turned up tonight beats everyone except Uysk.

Agree with Kiwi that is was Fury's best performance since Wlad. I feel the same applies to the Joshua rematch.

The two Ukrainians inspired their standout fights.

He was and is decent but he's been well overrated, all this generational great and the best HW ever nonsense. What was it all based on?

fury has been pretty polarizing

seen plenty of stuff that he'd beat every atg or close to it because of his size, but also plenty that he's sheeyat. some people even saying that he's not world class

he's a huge guy with some skill. can move well, box effectively in multiple styles. never really struggled with fitness or questionable heart. it's got him far, a career as a world elite. he could beat plenty of past champs too but defo not some all time king.

However much we all hate him Fury is Usyk’s best, and career defining win.

Tyson Fury is very good. Usyk is brilliant.

I expect to see the rematch.
