Same. Fury had Uysk better worked out by the 4th. And when we look at Uysk Joshua 2, Joshua was the one who improved. Fury will see when he watches the fight where he hurt Uysk and work on that.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑18 May 2024, 19:57Greedy belly got caught hoarding coaches. Whoever said that needs to be fired tomorrow. You don't say stupid shit like that when the undisputed HW championship is on the line. Even though I had Usyk winning this handily, the rematch with an even more focused Fury is still making me wonder. That stretch of excellent boxing from Fury was on another level.578222 wrote: ↑18 May 2024, 19:55I may be wrong but I'm sure I heard one of his corner saying at the end of the 10th before they came back out that Fury has "won this fight". They seemed to think he was miles clear even after that spanking the previous round.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑18 May 2024, 19:52
Yea, they said he had Andy Lee and the other coach. I didn't know he had 3 people talking to him, though! He also had a lose a metric ton of weight, but this kind of seals it for me that he intentionally cut himself to get more time to lose weight. He would've have gotten stopped had he showed up north of 270.

Usyk gonna stop greedy belly if greedy belly dares to fight the heavyweight king again.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - May 18, 2024
Right, but what happened in Joshua Usyk 2?
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - May 18, 2024
I mean there's a blueprint for, what, making Usyk work harder to clearly beat you again?
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - May 18, 2024
You are right. There would need to be a retrospective reason that the fight "should" have been stopped at that point.Contendeh wrote: ↑18 May 2024, 20:15 I disagree with those saying the fight should have been stopped in the 9th.
Yes, Usyk battered Fury from pillar to post in that round, however, this is the biggest fight there can be and under such conditions the fighters need to go out on their shields.
What was worse was one of the judges scoring it for Fury.
This was a UD for Usyk any way you slice it.
Fury was trying to evade and survived.
Case could be made that he was a little lucky that he got through it. Looked a bit mercyful from Usyk too. I think there was twice some movement that maybe looked like the ref was thinking of interviening.., he was very ready to, for sure.
It "could" have been stopped and maybe some refs "would" have. But that's a very opinionated view, without merit really. Fury got through 3 more rounds afterwards, so there can be no basis that he was technically knocked out in the semse of being unable to continue. Ref got it right.

Usyk is what HW champions once were: not just the champion of the division, the world’s champion boxer.
The true champion. The best of his generation. The best of this century. Among the best in the history of the sport.

Usyk now rated 2nd behind Joshua in heavyweights & 52nd in the pound for pound on boxrec.

I feel bad for Naoya now, because we got a new P4P #1.
Usyk is an all time great and I hope he retires now, before he actually get's robbed fighting greedy Belly or AJ again.
Greedy and AJ can cash in big time in Wembley. Usyk got nothing more to prove.

Monster still #1 for me. Great win by Usyk but wins in big heavyweight fights are always a bit overrated, IMO, especially right after the fight. People were saying Usyk was an all-time great minutes after the first Joshua fight too, Monster remains the most dominant fighter out thereSendo Takeshi wrote: ↑19 May 2024, 03:56 I feel bad for Naoya now, because we got a new P4P #1.

true, i do think inoue is better, but tbf usyk's had to deal with far bigger size differences and that does merit some p4p cred

Usyk is p4p #1 now.

Fair. I still love Naoya. He was undisputed in two weight classes before Usyk, he's a four-weight champion, and he's more dominant than any other active champion. It's also true that heavyweight fights get way more credit than any other weight class, but beating someone up who is much heavier than you (who was even considered an ATG) is still a big deal. Their difference in weight is about the same as Inoue's from 108 to 122, percentage-wise.No matter how you look at it, Inoue and Usyk are already legends and absolute ATGs. What a time to be a fan.giacomino wrote: ↑19 May 2024, 04:30 Monster still #1 for me. Yup, I am a big Usyk fan, he has overcome physical disadvantages. Monster has dominated four divisions, was undisputed in two (like Usyk), barely loses a round in most of his fights and has knocked out almost everyone he fought. I’d have Usyk or Crawford, who dominated three divisions and wiped out an undefeated champion to unify, #2. Definitely would have Usyk #2 if they’d stopped the Fury fight when they probably should havemargaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 May 2024, 04:40 true, i do think inoue is better, but tbf usyk's had to deal with far bigger size differences and that does merit some p4p cred

Usyk is great fighter, but was Fury really considered an ATG? I enjoyed watching him and all but I didn’t know anyone considered him an ATG.Sendo Takeshi wrote: ↑19 May 2024, 06:00Fair. Fury was in good shape compared with his last fight. I'd not call Fury an ATG, but the small Usyk beating such a big crafty HW and unify all major titles, it's definitely an ATG achievement! Imo Usyk is already an ATG fighter. I mean for an eastern european fighter he pretty much achieved everything in boxing. You have to understand that Usyk had a much, much harder road than if he was a british or an american fighter. That the true.

Usyk's 170 landed punches were the most by a Fury opponent (Wallin had previous high with 127)
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk | PPV - May 18, 2024
Usyk won and was robbed of a knockout in round nine by an incompetent referee. Fury has been exposed as a second rate heavyweight by his first real opponent. Slava Ukraine!
