Historically fights are suffering... Ali's highest rated bout is 3 stars...
That will also improve with the new release to be set live on May 15 ..
Looking forward to it
Any idea why IBA promoted professional bouts aren't being added to the database? Some very important bouts have taken place in the last month or so and despite questions posed in other forum sections, there's been zero replies

WHR 1.3.2.1 is live now.
Higher weight divisions are rated higher now in p4p ratings - and more stars for them in relation to lower weight divisions too.
No change in winner prediction ratio.
Well you definitely didn't OVERcorrect. Junto Nakatani is 36 ranks above Usyk. If I was making out the rankings manually, Usyk would probably be like 25-40 spots above Nakatani. I mean, Nakatani has 0x 5-star fights and 1 belt while Usyk is nearly a 2-weight undisputed champ. At least Beterbiev and Bivol are ahead of Takuma Inoue and Kenshiro Teraji in this update (if beating Saul Alvarez isn't enough to get you rated above Kenshiro Teraji, then I just don't know what will). So anyways, I can say that this seems to be an improvement, but I probably would've gone even further (but I hadn't seen this discussion as I don't log in every day anymore).
Usyk becomes undisputed. BoxRec drops him to number 2. That must be a joke right? Okay it is SD but that SD is against a very highly ranked heavyweight. I hope this gets fixed soon, otherwise that ranking would lose a lot of it's prestige. I'm guessing that if their rematch end with an SD again they'll both drop even further.

lol ya it's a bit silly isnt it
usyk beats fury to become undisputed, but because it's a split aj - beaten twice by usyk - is the new #1
The winner above lose rule is valid 18 months. Joshua's last loss against Usyk was 21 months ago. That could be extended to 36 months.
- BoxRec will extend the winner above loser rule to 36 months. This will keep Usyk as #1 heavyweights.
- BoxRec will reduce the division weight factor from 2 to 1. This will move the higher weight divisions to higher ranks in the p4p ratings. It will make Usyk #12 p4p.

Navarette is ranked over Berinchyk as well, even though that just happened.
That was OK this morning, but there there was some new correction for one of both. That caused a new instant update, which doesn't consider winner above loser rule. It will be OK tomorrow again with next complete ratings run.
Dear Martin, the rating formula should reflect the real achievements of the fighters. When Usik beat Fury and you put him in second place, it’s at least funny. Joshua is the one who is now in first place, twice defeated by Usyk.

Hi Michael, yes Usyk would be #2 due to his only close win against meanwhile inferior rated Fury. But Usyk will be #1 due to an extended winner above loser rule based on his win against Joshua ...
This is absolute embarrassment! Today is 19th May 2024. Yesterday Usyk became undisputed heavyweight champion and today he is number 2 in BoxRec rankings and the number 1 boxer A.J. got beaten by Usuk twice !!! What the hell are you doing you shameless people?!?!?!

it's an automated, computerized system
ya it's obviously a ridiculous ranking, but boxrec doesnt have anything personal bias or grudges in it
