I don't think Tyson still has that hunger in him. Also his last performance against a mma fighter was very disappointing. I think its just a big cash out for greedy belly. Usyk will be the crowned undisputed HW champion.

Fury often fights to the level of his opposition. I wouldn't read too much into his last fight.apollo creed wrote: ↑17 May 2024, 09:48 I don't think Tyson still has that hunger in him. For me, it's a 50/50. I'd like Usyk to win - he has a better story, but I wouldn't be putting any money on it.
Re: I think we gonna see a very special Usyk putting a masterclass performance
I am absolutely convinced that Usyk is going to win for two reasons. One, Usyk is an elite athlete in peak physical condition and is close to his peak. Two, Fury is not.apollo creed wrote: ↑17 May 2024, 09:48 I don't think Tyson still has that hunger in him. Also his last performance against a mma fighter was very disappointing. Fury will win ugly. Mauling inside, leaning on, damaging body.

You could be right but I think he is just more about making huge money atm. 100+Ms is a fortune. Usyk is more about legacy and pride.Lenny Cravats wrote: ↑17 May 2024, 10:44Fury often fights to the level of his opposition. Tbh even if Fury will lose, he will still be a big winner. He accomplished a lot and he is about to make huge money.jwfg wrote: ↑17 May 2024, 10:46I am absolutely convinced that Usyk is going to win for two reasons. I'd love to possess Usyk's "pitter-patter" punching power and technique.

No, there Klit simply leaned and holded. Fury will work more.
Re: I think we gonna see a very special Usyk putting a masterclass performance
I don't think he'll have any choice but to work more if he wants to win. Usyk ain't gonna be an easy night.

Thing with Usyk is that he has very good footwork and he is a master of using angles.
Re: I think we gonna see a very special Usyk putting a masterclass performance
I am too, but I don't think Uysk will be that easy to tie up.
Definitely Fury will be going the full Warrington if he can.
The ref is the same one that allowed Jeff Horn to headbutt and elbow a win against PacMan
Re: I think we gonna see a very special Usyk putting a masterclass performance
Separate yourself from the BS and hype, and the big `if` that it will be a fairly refereed and fairly scored fight, and Usyk is the huge favourite.
Nothing Fury has ever done in the ring suggests he has ever been good enough to beat the Usyk we have seen since his move to heavyweight.
Added to the facts that Fury has for the last few years fought very poor opposition to prepare him, and never kept himself in good physical condition that would suggest his sharpness and stamina are going to be diminished.
My only doubt that Usyk wins is that Fury seems the favourite of his Excellency and Fury only needs to stay on his feet for 12 rnds to get the decision ... or even if knocked down once in every round; be able to get back to his feet within 10 seconds each time to get a draw.
The Saudi`s seem to be good for the sport so far by making the fights we have wanted to see. Boxing needs this fight to be seen as fair and no controversy - however the Furys have proved to be a toxic in just about everything they are involved in.

He must be chosen for an obvious reason.
Re: I think we gonna see a very special Usyk putting a masterclass performance
I have not been paying much attention to this fight until this week. I haven’t read everything out there.
I would like to see Usyk pull this off. It is possible that he will. However, there are a few factors that are troubling, beyond the tremendous size difference:
1. While he got the W, with a stoppage, v Dubois last August, a major vulnerability was revealed in the form of body shots.
2. While 37 is not ancient for the unlimited class, age is a bigger factor for a smaller HW who relies heavily on his legs, reactions, and superior skills to overcome weight, length, and strength disadvantages.
3. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Back to back long camps, which I suspect the Fury camp planned on, can drain/debilitate a boxer.
None of the above are excuses being pre-staged for the possibility of having to discuss a potential L for Usyk today. They are all facts that may weigh significantly on the outcome.
Usyk will make no excuses if he cannot get the job done today. This is for the traditionally acknowledged championship of the world, not just the HW Div. In order to get the W, Usyk is well aware that he must overcome it all, no matter what Fury throws at him, no matter what the ref allows or disallows, no matter the judging.
Usyk is a special boxer. If anyone can get it done, Usyk is that man. No matter the outcome, Usyk will be remembered as a great boxer. If he can get it done today, Usyk lays claim to GOAT status.

Fury can switch styles. He wont try and box like joshua. He will hold, wrestle, but, lean, hit low and wear out usyk.

It aged quite well, with the exception of the part about Fury. He came to fight, looked as good as he ever has, and Usyk STILL found a way.apollo creed wrote: ↑17 May 2024, 09:48 I don't think Tyson still has that hunger in him. This thread will age very well.
Usyk is a very special talent indeed.
I see him as a sort of pseudo saviour of the HW division.
In this era of Godzilla sized HWs, a more traditional sized HW has managed to emerge as arguably the premier HW of this era.
Let us hear no more talk about someone of 6' 3" and about 225lbs being 'too small'.
As Usyk has proved, skills pay the bills; couple that with will, heart and conditioning and you have the best fighter in the division, all this and he's 38 years old.

terrible shame EO isn't here to remind us that boxing is own by size and that predicting the smaller heavyweight over a much bigger one is pure madness
