0:13 * The referee won't stop the fight on his own if the reason for the stoppage directly has to do with a cut or swelling; he'll always consult the ringside doctor. And it looks like, in this case, we're going to see some more boxing because the physician has given his okay to let the fight continue. Both fighters are assuming their positions and the timer has restarted here in Round 8 as the fighters approach one another. 3:0
0:22 Al Mitchell not only gave Charles encouragement between rounds but also some solid advice on how to handle Moore. Now it's up to Charles to implement it. 3:0
0:28 Ezzard Charles swings...and misses. 3:0
0:34 Moore lands a smashing hook! 3:4
0:34 Charles is reeling.. 3:4
0:44 "The Cincinnati Cobra" Charles and Moore exchange punches and the crowd roars it's approval as Charles get in the most telling blows. 6:6
0:48 Charles seems to be a bit distracted by the swelling under his left eye as it has gotten worse. 6:6
0:48 You can see some increased swelling around the right of Moore. 6:6
0:58 Charles is moving nicely, using every inch of this ring. 6:6
01:06 Moore's jab is fast and accurate. 6:8
01:20 Charles pummels Moore, capping off his assault with a stiff cross! 10:8
01:20 Moore is going to need to regroup after that blow... 10:8
01:24 Moore is breathing heavily... 10:8
01:37 Moore fires a shot, but it glances off Charles's shoulder. 10:8
01:48 Charles is circling his opponent. 10:8
01:57 Ezzard Charles throws a straight right that glances off the shoulder of Moore but it's enough to keep him off-balance. 10:8
02:18 Charles follows the jab with a with hard overhand right to the jaw. 13:8
02:18 Charles has really been letting his hands go. And now it appears as if Moore's cut is bleeding even worse than before. 13:8
02:18 The gash on the eyelid of Moore is really starting to bleed profusely now as additional damage has caused it to widen. That cut could lead to a TKO loss if the bleeding isn't stopped and soon. 13:8
02:18 * Moore's pawing at his eye and there may be some blood trickling into that eye from the cut above it. The referee must have noticed because we have a stop in the action as Morton motions toward the ringside physician. They're going to take a close look at the cut. 13:8
02:18 * The doctor is peering at the wound and he's shrugged his shoulders and he's shaking his head - is that a good thing or bad? Well, it's good from Moore's perspective and the cheer that arises from the crowd tells us all we need to know: there's going to be more fisticuffs in just a moment. Obviously, the damage isn't that bad and Moore and Charles await the signal from the referee to commence firing. The fight resumes here in Round 8. 13:8
02:28 Charles gets the cross through Moore's guard. 15:8
02:28 And now Moore is bleeding even more profusely from that last punch as his cut worsens! 15:8
02:28 There's a steady stream of blood just running down Moore's face from the wide open gash on his eyelid. It's no wonder Moore is fighting with a sense of urgency. He has to know that if the bleeding isn't stopped, the fight might well be... and not in his favor. 15:8
02:28 * Moore seems to be having some difficulty seeing. It's not that he's bleeding all that badly but the location of the cut - over the eye - makes it a bit more serious. And talk about timing, the referee has stepped in and momentarily stopped the fight. He's looking at the cut above Moore's eye and is now leading him toward the ringside physician. 15:8
02:33 * Referee Morton stops this fight. He guides Moore to the corner, motioning for the ring doctor. The ring doctor is examining the cut... Moore's corner is pleading its case with Morton.* That's it! Referee Morton is waving it off. This fight is over! Charles wins by TKO due to the severity of Moore's injuries! 15:8

The random cuts ruins yet another big fight.....
Re: Event#21 JHL vs Moore...Bobby Brown vs Leroy Brown.....Elvis Vs Jesus.....WBC Champ Moore vs Charles
In the real world, according to the statisticians pro boxing matches are stopped on cuts roughly 25% of the time.
Re: Event#21 JHL vs Moore...Bobby Brown vs Leroy Brown.....Elvis Vs Jesus.....WBC Champ Moore vs Charles
Ezzard Charles fixes Moore's wagon, and settles the controversy from earlier in the season.
Even before the cut Moore was well on his way to defeat. I think you should be lucky that it was stopped, and spared your fighter more punishment.

Re: Event#21 JHL vs Moore...Bobby Brown vs Leroy Brown.....Elvis Vs Jesus.....WBC Champ Moore vs Charles
The controversy from earlier in the season was fixed the following week, when Moore came in under-trained and won a UD.
Re: Event#21 JHL vs Moore...Bobby Brown vs Leroy Brown.....Elvis Vs Jesus.....WBC Champ Moore vs Charles
Charles was disillusioned by having been cheated in the first place, and hadn't yet gotten back right mentally. Obviously given the slump he went through at the time.
Charles is now back to his best, and we see who the better man always was prior to other people's meddling.
Re: Event#21 JHL vs Moore...Bobby Brown vs Leroy Brown.....Elvis Vs Jesus.....WBC Champ Moore vs Charles
I wonder if the stat folks assign all TKO's to cuts? That might support the 25% claim.
