Why would Usyk fight Kayabel - makes zero business sense at this stage of his career.

I just think Usyk has the superior boxing brain, whatever Fury tries, he will find the antidote to.Coco wrote: ↑20 May 2024, 06:37Fury didn't allow Uysk to punch him in the head either.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑20 May 2024, 04:40ya that's tthe thing, people act like it's so easy to just maul and bully a guy but it's not really when he's as good as usyk. you gotta catch him, you're gonna take more punches on the way in fighting that way, and youre gonna use up your own stamina doing it.
more aggression aint necessary a bad thing for fury, but usyk isnt just going to passively stand there and let himself get tossed around
Boxing is about imposing your will, and having the ability to do it.
Obviously Uysks tactics won't be having a lean on the inside. The question will be what Fury can impose on him.
I'm sure he will be looking to make adjustments in the rematch.

Fury said in the build up that win lose or draw he'd be fighting Usyk in a rematch in Saudi. It was pretty much agreed in advance. It's a repeat of the first fight. Usyk's workrate and stamina is way too much for Fury

You're right zero reward and as much risk as anyone.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 08:38Why would Usyk fight Kayabel - makes zero business sense at this stage of his career.
Realistically the only fight that makes sense for Uysk is Fury.
No one wants to see AJ 3
But Kabayal may be the dark horse in the division

Well, I hope Tyson takes it, and is ready to make some improvements. Maybe he can get a bit fitter, but you would fancy that Usyk will always have the edge in stamina given their respective sizes.
Fury could come in bigger, but I don't know that helps, he will be slower, and will burn more energy, and hard to see Usyk allowing him to mug and spoil on the inside. It was notable that in the clinches, Usyk seemed to be very strong, physical strength isn't all about sheer size, I would bet Usyk probably has similar muscle mass to Fury anyway.

I think the problem would be that Kabayel's weapons seem to be speed and pressure which are two things that Usyk also excels at. Kabayel is a similar size to Usyk which I think favours Usyk given what they've accomplished. The taller guys that Kabayel has been chopping down with body shots have a larger target for the shorter heavyweights to target at a more reachable position so it's different when they're the same size. Alternatively, Sanchez is fast and technical but Kabayel dealt with him handily. I think it's an interesting fight but I would be surprised if Kabayel can win it.coneye wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 08:25How do you think he'd fare with Usyk styles make fights , and the constant pressure and hard body shots he favors i think may well negate Usyk a bit , wether it would be enough i don't knowjoshj909 wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 08:00The problem is mandatories. Kabayel needs to get himself one because, for the foreseeable future, Usyk is likely only going to be looking at AJ/Fury for the money or mandatories/unifications such as Parker (WBO) or Hrgovic (IBF). Kabayel is probably only one fight away so if he can get a WBC or WBA mandatory then he will be in line.
Kabayel is probably more intriguing than Parker but Parker's last two wins are bigger names in the division so has ended up with the mandatory while Kabayel's beaten two relatively unknown boogeymen. Should Kabayel beat someone like Zhang, Joyce or Anderson I think the casuals would take note and he would have easily earned his shot.

Another thing to remember is that Fury is coming off what was effectively two training camps. He won't be any fitter for a rematch.
Usyk might get old over night though, I did think he looked a little off to be honest but it was enough

That's why I want Usyk to retire,I know Fury is a big lump to deal with but after the very long career he's had,he's not going to get better really.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 08:49 Another thing to remember is that Fury is coming off what was effectively two training camps. Usyk again- fury won’t fight in October though
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury II - October 2024
That was difficult listening.
fWank was embarrassingly ignorant of bipolar disorder; he just made no sense as he tried to use it as an excuse for Fury's disgusting rants.
It's very very rare for someone to have bipolar disorder and not require some nasty medication - the very rare ones who do manage to do so typically have very mild bipolar disorder and are able to do so by looking after themselves .. avoiding illegal substances, alcohol, stress, diet and sleep.
I don't believe for a second Fury is diagnosed with bipolar

In my opinion it was cynical, ignorant and diminishes genuine sufferers.
To claim that bipolar is an excuse for rude/offensive/untrue comments and that we should all go and 'google it on the NHS website' had me shouting at the radio.
In my opinion, mental health sufferers are generally the kindest of people, because they know what it's like to feel bad.
Insulting your opponent, swearing in interviews and blaming the Ukraine war for your loss isn't down to bipolar. It is down to a lack of class.

I think he has some sort of condition, he's also said he has OCD and ADHD. In that Netflix series you could see his mood switched a lot or he would suddenly want to do something like go on holiday last minute with no real thought behind it.

Bipolar disorder doesn't manifest in the way Warren describes, I think it far more believable he has ADHD, which has high comirbidity with bouts of depression, and also addiction.Controversial wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 13:53I think he has some sort of condition, he's also said he has OCD and ADHD. I wholeheartedly agree - the vast majority of those people I work with who have serious mental health disorders are typically the gentlest and nicest people I meet.Frostieballs wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 12:50As someone who has had long battles with mental health issues in the past, the interview this morning really enraged me.tonyevs wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 12:37That was difficult listening.

fWank insults those with bipolar, he clearly has no idea of the disorder.
I agree regarding the ADHD, that is more likely than bipolar - but again, its unlikely because he can dedicate himself to strict training like he has demonstrated the last few months. You can`t pick and choose when you have symptoms of ADHD ... and definitely not bipolar disorder.
Facts are that there has not been any evidence of him experiencing the level of typical manic or depressive symptoms. All we know is that when he got depressed when he got caught and banned for PEDs ... being depressed about a sh1t situation is actually quite normal.
There was a very well known former world champion who demonstrated with typical bipolar disorder ... the grandiose of a manic episode is something else indeed.
