I think at the least, they could give them the scores every 4 rounds in a title fight.

And the whole 10-9 for a close round or a not so close round.
And we're still getting long counts.
And (my personal fav) boxers are still not going to a neutral corner and the refs do nothing about it.
And being hit after break is called. Cordina on Saturday night got lamped full blast after after the break was called, was clearly dazed and the ref pretty much let it continue. Completely ignoring the rules.
And low blows. Is there no technology we can use for this? There must be, surely. Can we not use technology for all of it?

Had it by two rounds to Usyk plus the extra point in round 9
Would like to see Olexander retire now and deny Fury his rematch. Like what happened to Wlad.
Karma can be satisfying.
And dump the fugazi “Lineal title” in a sulo bin.

Re: How Did You Score The Usyk-Fury Fight?
Live updates on scores not a good move I don't think. If a fighter is way ahead then they can just coast and not fight or the other one might go all guns blazing for a knockout and put himself in more danger. Add to that its a distraction to the fighters mid fight, they need to be concentrating on the fight, not thinking about the scores and how are they losing etcjwfg wrote: ↑20 May 2024, 09:35They trialed something a few years back.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑20 May 2024, 09:18Don't the WBC do that?jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑20 May 2024, 08:08

Re: How Did You Score The Usyk-Fury Fight?
Rewatched it today and that's the shot that made it a clear Usyk round. I didn't initially realise it bust Fury's nose, good a shot as it was.
I really wanted Usyk to win, so was consciously trying to be objective. Fury seemed to land a great right to the body before Uysk's one-two in reply, but we didn't see it properly on TV. Usyk had his back to the camera for a lot of Fury's bodyshots, so I found it hard to tell if they were partially blocked or he took them well.
Re: How Did You Score The Usyk-Fury Fight?
6-6 with the KD giving the win to Usyk. Much better fight than I expected.

Re: How Did You Score The Usyk-Fury Fight?
If you scored all the close rounds for Fury, it's a max 6 rounds anyway..
Give the other 6 to Usyk + the KD.
The best scorecard in favour of Fury is always gonna be a 114-113 Usyk.

Re: How Did You Score The Usyk-Fury Fight?
It was a tough fight to score.
One of the judges gave Fury all of rounds 3-7 - and I can see how that could happen. There were rounds where there wasn't a whisker between them, and if you're scoring in real time, it can be easy to award a fighter several rounds on the trot, even though the fight is really close.
I think the scoring system needs to change in the following ways
Encourage 10-10 rounds, rather the telling judges not to score them, if you can't decide who won, it shouldn't be a mental flip of the coin, score it even.
Award 10-8 rounds where a fighter totally dominates the round, 10-9 where it is close.
Knockdowns shouldn't automatically convey a 10-8, 10-7 etc, as they don't tell the whole story, if someone totally dominates a round, but then suffers a flash knockdown, I don't believe that should be a 10-8 to the person scoring the knockdown, as that doesn't tell the story of the round. I personally would argue that should be a 10-9 to the person who dominated the vasty majority of the round, with the KD earning a point back for the other fighter to 10-9 instead of 10-8.

Re: How Did You Score The Usyk-Fury Fight?
He`d be losing tens or millions if he doesn`t do the rematch ... Why wouldn`t he fight Fury again? it was only Usyk who looked capable of getting the KO, and it was only Usyk who improved as the fight went on.
I personally don`t like that there is an immediate rematch because it ties things up - and if Fury does manage to win, does that mean there would be a 3rd fight? and if Usyk won that - would there be a 4th fight .. then a 5th ... etc
Loser should be made to fight his way back again, and the winner to face his mandatory.

Re: How Did You Score The Usyk-Fury Fight?
I think Usyk clearly won rounds 1, 8, 9, 10 and 11. Fury clearly winning rounds 4, 5, 6.
Other rounds were closer. So, with 5 rounds clear plus a knockdown, it's hard to see past a Usyk win.
From memory, I had it even after 8. With Usyk winning 9 (with KD), 10, 11 and Fury winning 12.
So what's that, 115-112?

Usyk don’t need the money now. He’s done it.
Why bother? From the sounds of things the titles will be fragmented in the next couple of weeks anyways.
So undisputed is a moot point.
Nah. Fuk Fury off.

No doubt, but I don't believe Usyk's the only one with the potential to beat him. Let someone else have a crack.Frostieballs wrote: ↑21 May 2024, 04:23I’d like him to retire, but the problem with that is Fury will then rant on about how Usyk is scared and avoiding the rematch.

All Usyk can do now is fight on until he loses, giving someone props akin to Tarver's for beating Jones.

Fury has held up the heavyweight scene too long and too often ,if he wants to do a rematch , same will happen they think its good management to get close , stall pull out , mouth off rinse and repeat , , they think there being clever did'nt work this time Usyk visibly had him rattled and worried before the fight it will not happen next time , and until he goes his idiot father will still be around so i'd just like to see the back of him now , sick of the circus its got boring

118-109 Usyk according to AI scoring which ignores emotions and feelings. I scored it 116-111 Usyk live but gave Fury the last round which is incorrect.
