I think this will be similar to Joyce v Takam and Hammer.

Joyce will take a few winging hayemakers on the chin and we'll go 'ohhhhh' and bit by bit he will break the opponent down.

And yes, I agree with most here, this could be painful to watch.

Del is as old as a meteorite - I don't believe he can recapture that kind of form.

Having said that, the beating that Joyce took from Zhang, looked like a career ender.

This is like a destruction derby, entertaining, but you know that nobody is leaving the arena without being seriously bent out of shape.

I like this for what it is, will be two very hard guys fighting. I think Joyce gets a stoppage and is back in the game.

Back in what game? Do we think Joyce is capable of beating a top contender now, I'm not sold on that. I think he's done. Slow as shite through a funnel, and his chin is cracked, that's a recipe for a beating if he steps up again.

Both are in good fights because they both take a lot of punishment,it's not a good move for either and as others have commented,they should both be thinking seriously about jacking it in asap.Chisora has looked shot for ages and Joyce looked terrible in his last fight.

Other than hay no one has stopped him in less than 10 rounds. And many good fighters have gone 12 with him.

Joyce whacks but is still more a ware you down type.

Given it will likely go some rounds chisora should land some bombs, because even raggard sloppy slow chiz can find that chin.

Fave but after getting stopped horrifically twice this is a live fight.

Ugh. Horrible fight. Nothing to prevent it, assuming they have passed their medicals, but it will be a mauling, attritional bout where both are likely to take significant punishment, and for what? Just for the chance to fight someone next who is slightly better than either of them and will give them a protracted battering? And, despite their ages and records, this absolutely isn't "loser has nowhere to go" territory - if that were true, then it was true of about a dozen previous Chisora fights, many of which he has lost, and he's still here. The heavyweight division loves to recycle and recycle, and if the loser wants to fight on, there'll be work for them at a level outside world top 10 but within world top 50.

So as previous posters have said, there's nothing to stop this fight, etc etc, but it's not one for me.

Yes absolutely, the recycling of heavyweight losers just cause of name value is a bit depressing.

Take Deontay Wilder won less than 5 rounds in 3 fights vs Fury, now late 30s and coming off a fight where he won zero rounds… yet immediately in a big fight.


God back in the day even Fury after his last two performances would need to prove himself worthy of fighting the top boys.

Sadly both past their prime both around 40. Do hope Joyce can get a good pay day or two off the back of this then call it.

Harder to think of a fighter that's a better candidate for permanent brain damage than Chisora. Another fight that he'll absorb a huge amount of damage before the ref has mercy in the latter rounds.
