btw the source is THE CONER MEN by Roanald K. Fried (page 301)
the chapter/interview with Al Silvani.
Silvani says he left Graziano's corner with Fusari fight in 1949.
It's possible that he may have included Whitey Bimstein
when Graziano asked him to train him for the LaMotta fight,
but he never mentioned Bimstein.

page 301-2 of The Corner MEN by Ronald K. Fried.
there was no mention of Al Silvani in that newspaper article link.
so obviosly Graziano wanted both in his corner with him , or he wasn't going to fight at all.
anyway, why should La Motta cared who trained him or Graziano
as long as the fight was made, because it was La Motta who suggested to
Graziano that they fight in the first place.

According to you the LaMotta-Graziano fight didnt happen because they both used Al Silvani in their corner. Nothing could be further from the truth.
In fact, contrary to your story both Silvani and Bimstein dropped out of Graziano's camp because they belonged to the managers guild and at the time refused to work with the IBC who were promoting the bout. LaMotta was trained for the fight not by Silvani but by Al Dinapoli. You can see in the films of the fight that Silvani is nowhere in Jakes corner. Harry Lenny took over training duties in Graziano's camp from Bimstein. In the newsreels of Graziano's training camp its Harry Lenny training Graziano, not Silvani or Bimstein. Silvani does tell the story that he turned Graziano down because he was with LaMotta, or so Fried said, but this simply wasnt true. He wasnt going to work either corner. He doesnt say the fight was cancelled because of this. He merely says a few days later the fight was cancelled. In reality it was a week later after Graziano broke his thumb. Had you known this before you came here spouting off you would have saved yourself some trouble. Like I said, Silvani was never more than a paid corner man to LaMotta. Hell, he didnt even like LaMotta. LaMotta had been wanting a fight with Rocky since 1946/1947 and couldnt get Graziano into the ring. A title fight for the two of them meant a huge purse to Jake. He wasnt going to keep Silvani around if it jeopardized that.

Re: 28.06.1950. Rocky Graziano vs Jake La Motta
Graziano had said that the last left hook that Zale landed,
Iin their third fight.
he was never the same afterward. it knocked all of the "poison" that was in his system out forever.
he lost all his killer instinct.
The only other times when he remotely felt that way again,
was in the last round with Tony Janeiro,
and( for a brief instant) the second round
with the fight with Sugar Ray Robinson.
