Great fight! I had it 6-6. Scores wide but in fairness Cat won the first one and was robbed.

We have had some brilliant fights already this year, that was another one

Always had a soft spot for Chorley. Cool place, nice people. Hard bastards, good workers and a terrible team

I have no idea why they have four commentators. Mike Costello and Andy Lee are excellent. No need for Barry Jones and Darren Barker.gregregegg wrote: ↑25 May 2024, 18:42 9-3 ish is correct. fornicate coms were terrible at the end there pretending it was even.

Better effort this time from Taylor and loses wider .
Funny old game, scorecards bit wide for me but the right winner.

If you’re scoring punching air and arms and ignoring Cat’s jabs snapping Taylor’s head back maybe.

But who would go "OOOH" every time a punch lands ?jwfg wrote: ↑25 May 2024, 18:44I have no idea why they have four commentators. Mike Costello and Andy Lee are excellent. ESPN Comms were great for this one. I think I prefer US commentary in UK fights as they're less biased and buy into our media narratives less.jwfg wrote: ↑25 May 2024, 18:44I have no idea why they have four commentators. Bob Arum showcasing why he needs to be put in a home
Re: Round-by-Round: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall II - 25 May 2024
Taylor was just a fraction out with his timing and Catterall seemed to know every time Taylor was going to launch his big left.
Catterall had some lovely combinations, and a single/double/triple jab that couldn't miss. He also pulled off that Andre Ward short overhead strike, then tuck under Taylors arm perfectly.
Some nice edd and flow between them, Taylor showed a lot of grit in the championship rounds.
No belts for Catterall but a big redemption.

Catterall has some sublime skills but it's all one paced .

Pleasantly surprised by Taylor’s post-fight comments.
