Jose Torres wanted to fight Floyd Patterson, just after he won the LHW title,
to avenge Cus D'Amato's slight by Patterson.
(Torres had knocked down Floyd Patterson earlier during a public sparring session,
when Patterson was preparing to fight Roy Cut N Shoot Harris.
Patterson developed sort of a grudge against Torres since that time.
