PPV overkill
PPV overkill
Yet another ppv tonight for a card missing its original star attraction of beterbiev v bivol.
Are you buying it?
I'm not going to bother, the Champions League final is on anyway so there's a quality sporting alternative.
The fights tonight are decent but without that headline fight I think this should have been bumped down to part of the subscription.
I bet not many pay for it straight after Fury v Usyk too. Getting both means an extra 45 quid on top of usual subscriptions, bit of a stretch given the Saudis are rolling in it anyway.

Let's not kid ourselves here; the Champions League final is a much bigger event in a truly competitive sport. And you don't need any subscriptions or a PPV to see it. I'll watch it with my family (another plus for football) and then head home to see what's left of the PPV card.

Re: PPV overkill
Definitely not buying this one, not worth it at all without the main event. Champions League final for me.
Re: PPV overkill
I will be watching the ppv and recording the football to watch in the morning .Obviously taking care to avoid finding out the result beforehand.

Re: PPV overkill
Its a catch 22 at the minute.
So many ppvs, but the majority illegally stream, so they aint making as much money.
Forcing more ppvs, but the more ppvs they put out the more they push ppl towards illegal streams.
Ultimately boxing is full of greedy fcukers and the paying public are fed up of being squeezed for more and more. Mainly due to saudi money we are getting some of the big fights, but still too many misses, due to greed.

Re: PPV overkill
I’m buying, this to me is a great card with a lot of toss up fights. Might be the last time we see the Bronze Bomber in action too. It’s arguably one of the best cards this year on paper.. yet many are willing to pay for hog wash like Jake Paul! However they do need to make PPV cheaper it’s no wonder so many stream..
Champions league? Real will likely crush Dortmund.
Im looking forward to the heavyweight tears up tonight!

Yeah it's always free now, as far as I'm aware. Think I watched on Youtube last year.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑01 Jun 2024, 06:43Is the champions League final free to watch?Heldenjaeger wrote: ↑01 Jun 2024, 05:58 Let's not kid ourselves here; the Champions League final is a much bigger event in a truly competitive sport. Re: PPV overkill
Looking for a bit of clarity here..............
I paid £25 for a months subscription to DAZN to watch Fury v Usyk and saw it as a bonus being able to see Caterall v Taylor and 5 v 5.
It looks like I'm being asked to stump up some more cash for tonight's PPV?
Right or wrong?

Re: PPV overkill
5 v 5 is a totally separate PPV so yeah you'd have to pay out again. PPV isn't quite as dead as DAZN claimed, it it.Tarquin Tarpaulin IV wrote: ↑01 Jun 2024, 08:46 Looking for a bit of clarity here..............

Re: PPV overkill
I struggle to watch 90 mins of football but will happily watch loads of small hall fights. I get it's pricey this one but I'll be buying. I couldn't bear to get a poor stream and it doesn't work
Re: PPV overkill
I'm a bit of a technophobe but I downloaded the Discovery+ app, registered and there's the CL final showing as being on live and for free. Happy days. Wouldn't have watched the boxing anyway.

I figure you can watch the CL final and a fair bit of the 5 vs 5.
Footie should finish by 10pm. Zhang Wilder not on till midnight, so a good bit of action before!

Unless you're of Spanish or German decent and specifically follow the two finalists, why the f*ck would you consider the footy over the boxing, totally beggars belief.

1) It's not PPV
2) It's a much bigger event
3) The amended headline fight of the boxing is disappointing compared to the original fight
4) I can chat with people in work about the football on Monday, whereas any attempt to mention boxing is met with blank stares and uninterest

Re: PPV overkill
I suppose an extra reason is that we literally had a PPV 2 weeks ago. DAZN relying on boxing fans being suckers.
Re: PPV overkill
Well folks out there doing it hard at the moment so two cards B2B in a few weeks costs. The Docker wrote: ↑01 Jun 2024, 15:06 Unless you're of Spanish or German decent and specifically follow the two finalists, why the f*ck would you consider the footy over the boxing, totally beggars belief.
That said yeah I'd rather watch Boxing any day of the week than these overpaid footballers dancing around. Who cares about Real and Dortmund. Fook that. This card 5v5 card is top draw.

This isn't a issue with a decent fire stick

It's honestly so niche these days, hardly any of my mates or colleagues even know shows are happening unless it's a Joshua or Fury fight, and even then most of them won't buy the PPV so only see clips on Twitter afterwards. The social side of sport is a massive part of growing / maintaining its popularity, and boxing does itself no favours at all by being locked behind so many paywalls.

They love to watch and we've been to shows together. Was low key promotion.
