those compubox numbers are off to me, think hrg was outlanding dubs a lot more comfortably than that before the big last two rounds, he was getting tagged over and ovver by the rights. much of his own work was messy and falling short.
fair play though, dan's a real powerfuul guy and ground him down

Really really poor showing from Hrgovic. His power has looked a bit suspect and he has struggled to get the right range on his right hand but he just kept throwing that 1-2 and it eventually got through on opponents. Now he's got bad scar tissue under the eyes which will probably open up again. He looked limited and absolutely horrific stamina. He needs a complete change of set up in my view. New trainer and dedication to the sport. I think he's got a lot of talent.

Fair point with Lerena. But he absolutely folded and quit like a bitch vs UsykSeanBrennan wrote: ↑31 May 2024, 15:45I thought he showed heart vs Lerena when he was injured, and vs the pressure from Miller. He's still only 26 too. They've all got heart to step into the ring imo.

Hrgovic fought like the drunken version of Vit the Klit. He had some potential earlier in his career, but it seems, like the poor mismatching has ruined him.
Dubois is an improved fighter. I'd see him against Parker.

Hrg was not properly in range on those one twos, and was not fully committing to his shots. Had he done so he might have been able to stop dubois.
He clearly has talent, very fast hands and fluid, but my goodness he was utterly exhausted after round 4. What sort of training is he doing.
The win flattered dubois, who is far too easy to hit. Parker next? I'd expect parker to win that.

Who you gonna call? Jim McDonnell
Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Filip Hrgovic | PPV - 1 June 2024
hrgovic faded very quickly after the first few rounds and put in a very poor shift and was looking very sorry for himself at the first sight of the cut .
DDD seems to have made big strides in his game lately but he got away with a lot of head butts last night which the ref should have warned him about .
But that aside he deserved it .

I'm really pleased for DDD.
He's really learnt from his defeats and come back a much better fighter.
He doesn't duck people either and always looks for tough challenges.
If he fights Joshua next, I can't call it.
Initially I would have said Joshua all day long, but Dubois is dangerous, he's much improved, a lot younger and he has a great jab.
Bring it on please.

He definitely didn't want it anymore. He was impressive last night I thought.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑01 Jun 2024, 23:05Fair point with Lerena. I read a few days ago about how Kieran Farrell was bout into Dubois camp as a Padman.
It did look like Danny's hands were flowing a bit more freely. Does anyone have any more info on Farrell?
Cheers.

Gotta say, this is the first ever time IBF have introduced the Interim belt at heavyweight ..
No immediate decision has been made yet.
When the interviewer asked him after the fight he'd want to claim the vacant belt or beat the champion (Usyk), he said I hear AJ is on the table, lets get that on.

Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Filip Hrgovic | PPV - 1 June 2024
Dubois had a great seventh round and was on top again in the 8th, but it was a cut eye stoppage and should be treated as such. It wasn't a referees intervention to save Hrgovic from further punishment.
Daniel was hyper focussed and looked prepared to walk through walls to get the win, but despite this Filip landed punch after punch on Dubois.
DDD got away with terrible head use...no wonder Hrgovic's face was such a mess !
Filip didn't do himself many favours and seemed to give the impression he had just had to whack Daniel about for a few rounds and DDD would quit....big mistake.
On the one hand Hrgovic is relaxed in the ring, but on the other hand there seems to be too much lethargy and not enough zest in his work. Zhang & Dubois are pretty much top grade opposition, but I'm sure he could have made lighter work of both of them.
I wasn't convinced Hrgovic was "done" at the time of the stoppage...clearly things were going very wrong, but Filip showed against Zhang he can keep going in the face of adversity, even if he doesn't look like he wants to be there.
I'd be happy to see them fight again.
