he's never stepped up and is in his early thirties now if I'm not mistaken. That's the bloke who looks like Ali a bit yes?

Vlad Sirenko I'd say. Great power in both hands, he seems to have a killer streak.
Re: Name your HW prospects?
Yes, he is. Not early thirties, he is 28 yo as now, but i really wish he could step it up.

Re: Name your HW prospects?
Looking through this 4 years later is kinda grim. But there are a couple of feel good storys for the forum.
Several were very pro opeitia, nice. DDD and hrg were highly favoured and are finally closing in on title opportunity’s,
We might be due for another one of these threads but I think someone has to define a prospect…

It doesn't help that the thread was made at the start of the pandemic and in the last 4 years all the "prospects" were more idle than at any time since World War 2gregregegg wrote: ↑30 May 2024, 17:25 Looking through this 4 years later is kinda grim. Not that they would have been amazingly active otherwise, the trend of "hold on to your 'O'" has been stronger than ever.
It does seem the prospects named in 2020 are the same ones we have in 2024, a few have become contenders and some have fallen by the wayside. The Saudis might speed things along in the future.

Bahkhodir Jalolov
Jared Anderson (still just 24)
Justis Huni
Gurgen Hovhannisyan
There is a new wave approaching.

Like him, nice guy and exciting fighter.
Thought he may be a bit small, but the new wave as I see it isn't super tall.
Re: Name your HW prospects?
This performance from Torrez would be enough to beat pro guys outside the top ten right now.
Re: Name your HW prospects?
I love Torrez. I hope he can make his way into the top 10.
Re: Name your HW prospects?
Now Usyk has broke the 220 + barrier a lot more prospects come into play.
More 220 + will fancy their chances in a one off if they can get it.
220 + Pounders that is.
Might scare or tempt the big Cruiserweights in who knows.

I really hope so, the more the merrier.
Heavyweight should have all sorts of shapes and sizes - makes it really interesting picking winners.

What happened to Ivan Dychko?
Re: Name your HW prospects?
Nothing. He's in exactly the same position still. I think he's signed with Schaeffer but not getting any proper fights.

zakhozhyi had limited amateur background did other martial arts before boxing. just won the euro title and gets lots of top sparring work because of his height, been in camp loads with usyk and was a regular for povetkin. i bet he's made more from sparring than actual fights. now that his unbeaten record is getting up there and he's got the euro, maybe he'll get a bigger opportunity. bit of a novelty with his height. he's okay but anyone in the top 15 would beat him. tbf i think he has improved though (constant top sparring can do that)

Re: Name your HW prospects?
Ivan is one of the worst handled guys I have ever seen. He was so promotable when he turned pro.
Mid/late 20s, genuine giant, amature background, Olympic medal, kazacstan (when Kazac stocks were at an all time high as triple g stocks were at an all time high… needed to stay busy with easy inbetween fights and team up with GGG and be on all his undercards…
I don’t really think he showed that true elite pro potential, but fornicate he should have made it to his curling years ago, weather that’s world champ, contender, few losses and retirement…. But I guess we may never know, or not know till it’s too late…
