You do know he decapitated the non-boxer Ngannou in his last fight.................Kilburn wrote: ↑02 Jun 2024, 06:28 Lol Dubois just can’t get a break on this site. Nearly everyone predicted Hrgovic would take him to the cleaners, then when Dubois beats the living shit out of the guy, all attention turns to how Joshua (far from unbeatable, often tentative against someone half decent), is just going to turn up and decapitate him.
Rooting for Dubois all the way.![]()

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
I really Like DDD but think this is an easy AJ win now.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
That was a great upset win for Dubois; most of us picked Hrgovic to win convincingly so we've got to give DDD some serious credit.
He deserves a big fight on the back of that outing.
I do agree with those who think AJ will win if they fight though. If Joshua can land with the ease Hrgovic was able to in the first couple of rounds the other day Dubois will be in very deep trouble. AJ has faults as we all know but I can't see him gassing quite as easily as the big Croatian did.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
It’s not that I can’t see what others can - Joshua going out there being sharp and assertive, finding the target, beating Dubois to the punch etc.
But Dubois brings more than just size and strength to the table, and Joshua is certainly NOT the complete package himself.
For me it’s a very interesting match up, particularly in light of DDD’s last two brutal performances. Mentally he appears to have risen a couple of notches, which he certainly needed to.

Dubois got away with everything yesterday. People claim Hrgovic gassed. Repeated headbutts and low blows will do that to you. Of course, if the ref aint calling
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
The 100 punches to the head likely didn’t help either.

He started shipping lots of shots from round four onward, he was in control first 3, though it was competitive, them began to slow and throw less shots, by the 5th, he looked totally spent and was taking more and more shots.

Joshua has learnt to box aggressively a lot better, and manage his own stamina issues better, I think he would prevail, but hey all conjecture.

i mean aj isnt hrgovic, i dont see how dubois beating hrg obligates people to see aj-dubs as some kind of hard to split them fight. with josh and dubs being big hitters whove both been stopped before, it's also quite feasible that whoever wins will do so with a big endingKilburn wrote: ↑02 Jun 2024, 06:28 Lol Dubois just can’t get a break on this site. dubs is a strong guy who keeps bringing the pressure. but he was getting teed off on for several rounds, by the punch joshua throws best (and much harder than hrg does). i thought he looked limited much of the time, but at that level his strength and persistence prevailed eventually. it's not some huge mismatch and dan cant be ruled out, because we've seen aj broken before and dubs is a powerful guy. but i think joshua has more to work with than dubois and that stylistically things work better for him too
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
Nobody is obliged to see anything, Joshua is a rightful favourite. But the way some folk go on about him, you’d think he didn’t have his own ceiling, and that he’d been boxing top level guys recently.

That’s true.. he was in control.. ahead.. putting together the better shots..jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑02 Jun 2024, 17:39He started shipping lots of shots from round four onward, he was in control first 3, though it was competitive, them began to slow and throw less shots, by the 5th, he looked totally spent and was taking more and more shots.
I mean in boxing.. if you can get away with dirty tactics then why not..

Still in his mid 20`s when most others are almost a decade older, he could find himself with all the knowledge of the game and himself to reign supreme. Questions have been asked of him - and his last couple of wins could be his response to that.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑02 Jun 2024, 06:14.. that is not to ignore that the 26 year old is a bit of a monster and he is improving.
Unfortunately, I don`t think thats Dubois character. I think when the going gets tough he looks for a way out again.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
A very young Dubois was rumoured to have floored Joshua in sparring.

Dubois is def improving and showed some good defensive skills after an open door first round.
Nevertheless his defense was still leaky at times after the first round.
If he gives AJ those chances, everyone will be going to bed early.

Fight date possibly September at Wembley as talks have begun. I think this is a makeable fight really. I'm postponing my purchase of a ticket to Joyce v Chisora in favour of this one in September so I hope it comes off.
Imo it's not a certain that AJ can beat DD, and I think it's a decent fight.

DEFINITELY not a walkover. Dubois is a huge young lion who has not reached his potential and is improving.MasterG wrote: ↑03 Jun 2024, 13:40 Fight date possibly September at Wembley as talks have begun. I like where AJ is at right now though. A Dubois W would be a big upset.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
I think the notion that AJ is back in beast mode is a tad fanciful based on Wallin offering nothing and Ngannou being clearly clueless after the first minute. I expect him to look more like the gunshy version of Franklin and Helenius, given DDD's dig. If Dubois isn't overawed he can win this.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
Depends on how many openings DDD leaves, he needs to be defensively cute
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
Defensivly cute , Just can't see thiat happening , alls i have a vison of is , Aj , who does carry a decent jab , coming out , doubling a jab up and launching that big right hand , after he's rattled his brain a couple of times , , someone may tell DD he is allowed to move away from the right hand , he'll put that dumb look on his face and say ok then , after which he will move into a left hook, get the other side of his brain rattled , so he'll decide i know i'll lift my hands up and protect my head , then get hit with a left rip , go down and once again say stuff that . Take a knee , look all gormless at the ref , get counted out , and then say , he missed the count
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois - who wins?
That’s largely how I’m looking at it. It’s all well and good talking about Joshua’s timing and that right hand, but he has to actually throw it with some regularity. It’s not as though Dubois will just be waiting around for the perfect moment to strike.deadpan wrote: ↑03 Jun 2024, 14:27 I think the notion that AJ is back in beast mode is a tad fanciful based on Wallin offering nothing and Ngannou being clearly clueless after the first minute. I’m a 50/50 on this.
Daniel is a dog in this fight.
You gotta be a complete mug to dismiss this.
It beggars belief
