Brian Shaw

Post by The Docker »

For whatever random reason, follow a few present and past strongmen.

Just watched the latest Shaw update and he's now training for MMA.

Had one too many to spell his surname, but Mariusz P transitioned across and he's a svelte ballerina compared to Shaw, and at first even he was considered too bulky for MMA and shed some weight.

This could become farcical comedy if he continues to pursue it.

Well Brian is continuing to pursue it and fights Martyn Ford on the same Qatar bill that Eddie Hall faces Mitch Hooper.

This is definitely not for the masses but one I have huge interest in. Think the winners of each match then face off in a final decider.

From what I have seen of him, Martyn Ford is a bit of a c*nt of a man and one very loose cannon.

Pudszianowski. He was an amateur boxer on the Polish national team before strongman. A few ex strongman have transitioned to MMA. He actually fought another former World Strongest Man competitor, Oli Thompson, former Britain's Strongest Man. He also had to slim down for MMA.

Eddie Hall does a bit of MMA training, got some recent videos of him with Tom Aspinall.

Eddie’s issue could be that Mitch Hooper looks one of those gifted all round athletes.

Saw him competing in Canada’s golf driving for distance championships the other week and he was smashing it circa 400yards.

He appears one of those blokes just gifted at whatever he takes his hand to, hopefully the exception being MMA.

Brian and Eddie are across the pond best mates, so F knows how that works if they faceoff in the decider.

This event looks like it's not happening, don't think the money for the fighters was ever there.
An Ozzy fighter asked to be on the event said it was all a scam.

I was embarrassed for Eddie watching him against Hapthor... Throwing the same punch again and again and again... Why he didn't work on his jab to set it up is a complete mystery...

I'll say something about that right hand of his, it's extremely fast for a man his size and it has power. If that connected on the average man who fancies himself as a bit of a hard case, Hall would probably kill him.

Granted, it's all he has, surprising as he spent a lot of time learning to box and he didn't know how to set up combinations from the jab.

Yep Damage, you are correct here.

Seemingly Fury hasn’t cornered the market with the penchant for hoax fights.

Has Brian Shaw shrunk in height? He was always advertised as being 6'8" on WSM and looked it. Just seen this video of him and arm wrestler Devon Larratt and they look the same height, Devon is 6'5"

F knows is my answer. Brian seemed a genuine 6'8 and I follow strongman. comparably to his peers it does pan out. I'll have another look tomorrow once sobered up, but yeah they seem of similar height here.

Ford is absolutely dog shit at fighting. He’s a big framed roider, who has tattooed his face to appear “dangerous” he’s an actor ffs

He’d get leathered off anyone even remotely able to handle themselves
I don't particularly doubt this, but do you know this as fact? Just wondering if I've missed him getting pummelled, as something I'd like to see.

I now follow strongman more than I do the current boxing scene, the Stoltman brothers being my first stop off. Just reading the shenanigans Luke has supposedly been up to, what an absolute bellend if they hold up. I believe a good chunk of their revenue is via merchandise, so he's f*cked over his brothers in addition to his missus and child, w*nker.

he is still dabbling but seems to be making more headway in his strongman promotion, paying good prize money too. Definitely one of the good guys.
