I'm sure Tyson is struggling with his first loss, and he's already got addiction issues.

Being so hammered you can't even stand up is never a good thing, let's be honest. We may have all done it, but none of us as far as I am aware professional athletes at the very top of our sport.

If he's serious about winning the rematch, he will need to get all of this behind him.

Every additional day he spends doing this, is another wasted day in camp trying to undo the damage.
Not at 35 with a wife and kids. Perhaps that makes me boring, I don't know.
I love a drink and a dance, I'll get a bit wobbly, but falling over drunk and getting kicked out of venues? Left that behind by my mid-twenties.
Exactly. :salut:
When your 18-25 it's a hard night/special occasion on the town.
Ten years on from that and it's an issue.

Defy ANYONE to be under the pressure he's been under , , not drink for months and months , then when its all done , go out for a let your hair down session , be surrounded by people hero worshipping , probably buying drinks for you , and not end up wasted , , If he's gonna carry on , its probably te thing he needed , and the thing that will do him good , , he can wake up seedy , have a hangover , , want to stay in bed , but can't because he's got kids jumping all over him, takd a couple of asprins , say to Paris never again i promise , sit watch netflix with the kids , have a couple days off , and then say , right i feel refreshed , regenerated , got it out the system , now Lets get back to work and go bash the midgit .

Tyson knows what he can and can't do he's been doing it long enough , and sometimes you just got to let your hair down , he'll know enough is enough , and when its time to go back to work , If he decides , stuff it i pefer getting on the lash with his mates , well so be it with 100 mill in the bank , a lifestyle of holidays, sports cars and mansions , who could blame him , he's got probably 2 fights left , Usyk rematch and AJ which would probably net him at least another 100 mill , personally i think a couple nights off getting wasted is just what he needs , it won't affect the outcome of them fights , .

Can't believe people would be critical of him having a night out in the local boozer with local people , when they would probably go and spend money listening to a football thug tell them all how tough he is because he and 50 mates chased 10 teenagers down a alley , or kiss the feet of Mike Tyson a convicted rapist and wife beater , .

And don't worry about his condition he's spent a lifetime being in condition , he knows excatly wha to do ,

Sounds like a script out of a cheesey teen TV soap .. maybe add a bit where a bloodshot Tyson looks at himself in the mirror as sad melancholy music plays in the background, and he says aloud .. "I`m the peoples champion. I can`t let them down .." cue the Rocky theme as it moves to him and Big Bully John jogging (speeded up 10x to look as if they moving) up Morcambe promenade.

Sadly in the real world of professional athletes in their mid 30`s it puts increased wear & tear on the body. Look at Hatton. Enjoyed his beer too. And unlike Tyson Fury, he actually got himself back in top physical condition, yet was washed up by early 30s.
Compare to someone like Bernard Hopkins who lived the life of a professional athlete and had longevity.

 arghhh .. Fat Tyson Fury who gets a pass for poor fight results (Wallin/Wilder 3/Ngannou) due to him not training properly and being obese is actually getting praised for knowing exactly what he is doing and being in condition after all  .

You was actually joking all along :salut: .

Well, boxing does have some other examples, Chavez Sr, Hatton, Robert Duran, were all pretty bad alcoholics, rumour has it, Chavez was the worst of the lot, though who knows what sort of alcoholics they were. There's people who are alchoholics who drink steadily every day without really ever getting drunk, i've known people who drank 3 bottles of wine a day every day, and never looked even remotely drunk.

The bit I find concerning, is that he's obviously drunk way way more than his capacity, which suggests a loss of control, as he can barely stand, and when he fell over, couldn't get up unaided.

The thing is, no one is actually being critical of him as a person - it's more of a concern thing. I'm a bit older than Fury and certainly don't behave that way but I'm not judgemental.

It's more a case of whether this was a one off event (and he didn't seem to be with any mates) or how he is now behaving in life.

Wish him well and hope he was just letting off some steam but I fear I may be wrong.

The fact that Fury was so drunk suggests it's not an everyday thing

yeah Chavez has admitted to being on the absolute lot hasn't he, cokehead as well I think

albeit his handlers did the smart thing and had him fighting like 5-6 times a year which I doubt was a coincidence

Personally, I think some of Duran's losses and subpar performances were booze related. The one thing I'm certain of, is that in our out of training camp, massive booze benders do nothing to improve your performance.

What else is there to do in Morecambe than to get drunk - my dad insisted we went there to Pontins every wakes week during the summer holidays - I wanted to turn to drink and I was seven years old

If you want to be a multi millionaire and live in a seaside town in the UK, can one not pick somewhere better - Barmouth would be my pick! :TU:

Like you i'm older but have certainly let my hair down when Tysons age .

Agree ,, If its a regular thing not a good look and certainly not what an athlete should be doing

Wish him well and hope he was just letting off some steam but I fear I may be wrong.

Well i agree , and i have took it has a one of thing , and hope it was , like another poster said , the state he was in suggests that it is a one off , Its certainly not what real heavy drinkers tend to do , they handle it better, So like i said if its just a case of AAargh glad thats over , going out to let his hair down , gone to a local boozer , got cauught up with fans buying drinks getting photo's ect ect , theres no harm and mentaly would do him good to chill for the night get an hangover and then back to work

If its a regular thing or becomes regular its simple he should retire , its easy to compare him to some boxers who lead a real quiet and clean life , but theres just has many who have not , i doubt we will ever see video's of Pacquio in that state , or plenty of past champs , but theres been and will in the future be plenty who will act the same , Letting your hair down is human nature

Even So, Higgins had the talent to burn, could probably have won 4-5 more major titles if he wasn't such a massive pisshead. The most talented player to every play the game in my opionion, but lacked discipline and fortitude.

I would assume or think , given the nature of the man , and his penchant to live has close to working mans lifestyle has you could get when your a famous world champ multi millionaire , that if he goes out for a big one he's always going to be seen , who else in his position goes to the local boozer , with his mates , given that , if it was regular i doubt

1 --- he would not be that bad , he'd be more used to it
2---- He would be seen , and videod a lot more

So i agree with Mickey i doubt very much that he's an alchaholic .

Tyson looked more like a man not used to drink than an alchy ....

This
And i will add this observation is based on , myself coming from

1--- A big familly of alchys , you never seen them like that , just usually nasty and violent

2--- Years of working on doors and escorting drunks out , guys in condition like Tyson was , were usually very amicable , very easy to escort out , quite often very funny , and more often than not , just not used to drink well lots of it anyway .
