Bummy Davis came from there.
Don't believe it ? then check out this article from 1951.

https://brighteningglance.org/brownsville-bum.html

The article mentions that Bummy use to train at the gym on the corner of Georgia and Livonia.
what are (or were) the oldest "A.C"s (Athletic Clubs or Boxing gymnasiums in Brownsville ?
(and what is at those locations now ?)
Davis trained in Willie Beecher's gym, which was at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Livonia Avenue.

In 1949, "Brooklyn Eagle" columnist Tommy Holmes published a list of boxers from the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, and the following guys mentioned in that article have not previously been listed in this BoxRec thread. Almost all of these boxers were Jewish, and I believe that all of the guys mentioned in the Tommy Holmes article were Caucasian. I've alphabetized the names and added the BoxRec ID number for each guy. Tommy Holmes' article appeared in the February 2, 1949, edition of the "Brooklyn Eagle"--then a daily newspaper--on page 21.

Less than 10,000 people live there, also for music fans, The Manic Street Preachers are from Blackwood too.
Merthyr Tydfill also was the birthplace of Jimmy Wilde, in addition to Eddie Thomas, Johnny Owen, and Howard Winstone.

people in his book such as

Bug
Haitian Ron
Barkim (who lived in his building and taught him to rob and steal, later shot and killed after a dice game in 1981)
Curtis
Wise (a Police Athletic club boxer who taught Tyson the "Ali shuffle" after he knocked a muth-f*cka out)
Albert ( whom Mike Tyson once he won HW champonship finaced his crack enterprise, later shot and killed in 1989)
Gary Flowers (the dude who tor the head of Tyson's pigeon and then rubbed it onto him)
Nicky ( not a friend but someone who saw Tyson in his neighbourhood and pointed a shot-gun at his crotch and said to him if he ever saw him again there , he was gonna blow Tyson's b*lls off with it)
Darryl "Homicide" Baum aka "Shorty Love" aka Hommo (shot to deth in 2000 in Brooklyn NY age 34)
App
Buck
Bub
Duran (not Roberto)
Dave Malone
