Tyson Fury drunk and booted from bar
Re: Tyson Fury drunk and booted from bar
I work with enough alcoholics to know if they hit it hard enough they get in a right falling down mess.
I doubt very much Tyson Furys an alcoholic though. Probably he has just gone out and partied a bit harder than he expected .. or cynically, it's a PR thing to gain sympathy for poor MH sufferer after the disastrous 18-24 months where his fan base has almost disappeared ..

Re: Tyson Fury drunk and booted from bar
Yeah, I very much doubt he is an alcoholic.
He just looked like a big daft lad on his 18th birthday who'd had too much beer and wasn't used to it
Maybe he should have had his mam and dad there to look after him and make sure he stuck with shandy. Hang on, on second thoughts probably not his dad, just his mam.
Seriously though, while not a great look face down on the footpath and and scrambling around on all fours banging his head on the lamp post, no one got hurt and if it just a once off then no big deal. Though If he's back there doing it again next Saturday night it might give cause for concern.

If it's a one off thing or evey now and then it might not be a problem, you can guarantee Usyk won't be doing the same though, none of the elite guys do.

He's been bipolar for a long time and if he's taking his Lithium or Valproate like a good boy, the last thing he should be doing is drinking alcohol. The latter would make him feel very sleepy.

Alan Minter had a drink problem, not sure if that was throughout his career too but definitely in retirement.

Tyson looks very focused today in the video reply to the outcry. Exactly what his fans wanted to hear since Saudi, not the blip the other day.

I think it's a 50-50 fight. He knows what he has to do. People are letting their hatred of Fury get in the way of their judgement. There wasn't that much between them and Usyk looked like he'd been through it after the fight.joshj909 wrote: ↑13 Jun 2024, 07:49What are your thoughts of his chances in the rematch Mickey?mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Jun 2024, 07:10 Tyson looks very focused today in the video reply to the outcry. People let their positive bias towards fury get in the way of their judgement too. It isn't a one way street.
The fact is - Usyk took Fury's best and still came out victorious.
This teaser video is just that, teasing his fans that he is back in the gym all be it 6 months before his next fight - He knows they are stupid enough to believe it. Of course getting filmed crawling head first into a lamp post while completely bladdered has nothing to do with it.

Did he? I was screaming for Fury to put it on him and I've heard loads of good judges say the same.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑13 Jun 2024, 08:56 People let their positive bias towards fury get in the way of their judgement too. It isn't a one way street.

Re: Tyson Fury drunk and booted from bar
one thing i noticed though Mick, Fury found it near-impossible to land a right hand, whether a straight or a cross or a hook, he only really landed it as an uppercut either to head or body IIRC. landed the jab some but it seemed to me he had a real problem landing power shots that weren't uppercuts. he'd have to find a way to do that to 'put it on him' and i don't think it was for lack of trying so much as the straight right hand/etc simply wasn't working punching down on the shorter man

Ok, so then that in itself will be something to work on. That's sort of my point. There is loads to work on and he wasn't that far away in the first place. No doubt the same goes for Usyk to improve on his win.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑13 Jun 2024, 09:31 one thing i noticed though Mick, Fury found it near-impossible to land a right hand, whether a straight or a cross or a hook, he only really landed it as an uppercut either to head or body IIRC. landed the jab some but it seemed to me he had a real problem landing power shots that weren't uppercuts. he'd have to find a way to do that to 'put it on him' and i don't think it was for lack of trying so much as the straight right hand/etc simply wasn't working punching down on the shorter man

yeah i'm wondering if he's just going to struggle landing the straight right punching down at the much shorter man full stop. often a problem with a much shorter fighter- you didn't see Qawi get hit with many straight right hands either

I've heard a lot of people state this point, but It was the same when Joshua fought Usyk in their rematch. the same calls, just put it on him.mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Jun 2024, 09:24 ]

Fury did his best, but it's easier said than done when it comes to Usyk. Fury did have his best rounds while putting it on Usyk but then proceeded to nearly get knocked out.
Every time Usyk has started to look vulnerable he comes back twice as strong. It's almost as if he lures his opponent into this trap.
On saying that I do think Fury has a good shot at beating Usyk, but blimey Usyk is exceptional at what he does, to get past Fury's 6 inch reach when Fury uses his reach to such good advantage and also deal with a close to 3 stone weight disadvantage. He shoudn't really be wining these fights.

Re: Tyson Fury drunk and booted from bar
i think Usyk's overhand left his a bigger threat than Fury's right hand is to him and i don't think a new gameplan or training camp is changing that
Re: Tyson Fury drunk and booted from bar
Despite what the judges score cards said - Usyk won it clearly. And whilst Tyson had Usyk backing up with that uppercut - it was Usyk who shook Tyson to his boots literally making him sag onto the ropes with one shot, and had him out on his feet with the follow up.mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Jun 2024, 08:08I think it's a 50-50 fight. Therefore only a very biased Tyson Fury fan would still see it as a 50/50 fight.
Sure Tyson Fury could win - but based on the last time, and depending on having honest judges scoring it - then its 70/30 in Usyks favour without doubt.

Re: Tyson Fury drunk and booted from bar
I don’t see it like that at all. Tyson had a spell in the fight where he looked in control he got caught with a big shot that changed the fight. Usyk won but the fight was close, I don’t have the rematch as 70-30 it’s a lot closer than thattonyevs wrote: ↑13 Jun 2024, 13:52Despite what the judges score cards said - Usyk won it clearly. it's a bit non-news for me, he's drunk after a fight, read today he's already back in training.
Re: Tyson Fury drunk and booted from bar
If he does'nt make BIG CHANGES in the camp and make them like NOW or YESTERDAY things will remain the same , its not rocket science we all know its stupid to try and outbox a better boxer , We al know Tyson has to put it on him and drag him into a fight , BUT the problem is to do that Tyson has to improve and Usyk can probably improve on his game plan has well ,
I think the key issue is for Tyson to get rid of his whole team and , bring in some people who know where to make the adjustments , and i believe personaly its in the feet and the body pressure , this is where Usyk excels . he's always in range close enough to to put you under presure but far enough to make you lunge , he needs to be beat at his own game , centre of he ring weight on front foot and let the hands go , the minuite he has you leaning back he'll catch you , tight gaurd loose hands ,
I think in this case Freddy Roach would be a good fit , , he really just needs to get his offensive game in check , and its gonna take more than grappling and wrestling and heart
Could Tyson win the rematch YES he could ,, WILL HE probably not
