Prime Michael Moorer vs. Prime David Tua

Post by scorpio83 »

12 Rounds Heavyweight Bout

When Moorer and Tua actually fought in 2002, Moorer was past his prime and Tua was still devastating who put Moorer out in a round. But what happened had they fought in their prime, MM would outbox Tua behind his southpaw jabs, left hands, right hooks and combinations on the outside without engaging him or being caught off the corner or ropes as MM would keep outboxing Tua to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

I agree. Moorer would be ahead on the cards but Tua would take him out with a brutal knock out

Tua, as soon as he lands big the fight is over.
That could be in the dying or opening seconds, but it will happen.
I’m more inclined to see it happening in the opening few rounds.

I think Tua would stop him around the 7th or 8th round. Moorer definitely could've outboxed him for stretches, but at some point Tua's gonna get him.

absolute fact! But Never the less....I'd put money on Tua on this one...regardless of Date or venue.....Unless you force Tua to lose weight and have them vie in the LHW division. lol

Holyfield was injured in that fight and it was so close.

Anyway, Moorer definitely could outbox Tua, he would just most likely get caught at some point. Tua was a harder hitter in comparison to Holyfield.

I agreed with you right that Tua hit harder than the Real Deal himself.

In some fights Tua was aggressive and threw a lot of punches. That version would take out Moorer at some point, just a matter of when. However, in other fights he just waiting around for a big left hook, which usually didn't land. That version may have lost to Moorer on points.
