Hutchinson looked great against cans, but after seeing how quickly he melted against Lennox Clarke, I've not got high hopes for him. Classic flat track bully.

7 years, 18 fights and hes going around in circles. Someone mentioned how good thd Azeez victory was. Was it though? Azeez was awful that night and is probably british level at best, Buatsi is SUPPOSED to be far better than that.

The hutchinson fight is alright, decent domestic level fight again. It has only come about because he looked good against Richards, someone Buatsi already beat.

I get its not his fault that the Yarde fight fell through, 'wankers in the camp'. He needs to ice Hutchinson, but can see another meh type of performance incoming.

Tbh watching them there wasn’t much between them. I felt Kieran would win British title. I was surprised when Willy was KOd also.

Maybe it’s all the hard sparring thru the am years that lessens punch resistance. I don’t know. Both are hard as nails tho.

Willy Hutchinson and Joshua Buatsi have to be pulled apart AGAIN after tempers flare at pre-fight face off

Willy Hutchinson and Joshua Buatsi had to be separated for a second time after exchanging more heated words ahead of their huge light-heavyweight boxing clash at Wembley Stadium later this month.

The two domestic rivals battle it out for the interim WBO world title on the undercard of the mega heavyweight world title showdown between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois in front of 96,000 fans on September 21, with the winner then earning a shot at the victor of the undisputed light-heavyweight championship fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dimitry Bivol.

There is already no love lost between the pair, and security had to step in to pull them apart after Buatsi grabbed Hutchinson by the throat after the fight was officially announced on June 27. And tempers flared again on Tuesday after the duo had sat down with former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton to discuss the fight. During the sit-down on TNT Sports Boxing's Youtube channel, Buatsi became irked by Hutchinson's claim that he had given him the 'hiding of his life' in a sparring session five years ago, accusing the 26-year-old of lying.

As the two fighters got up to leave - having not opted to have a customary handshake - Buatsi once again called out Hutchinson for doing 'a lot of talking' while Hutchinson hit back by labelling his opponent as an 'idiot' and a 'clown'. They continued to exchange words before coming together in another physical altercation where Buatsi grabbed Hutchinson by the throat again before several security guards moved in to break it up.

Carstairs boxer Hutchinson comes into the bout off the back of an impressive points victory against Craig Richards in Saudi Arabia back in June to rack up five wins on the spin and extend his record to 18-1. Buatsi also comes into the fight in red-hot form, with his unanimous decision win on points against Dan Azeez in February maintaining his flawless record of 18 wins from his 18 professional fights.

‘I know what I’ve signed up for’: Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson discuss weekend fight

Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson met for a face to face meeting with DAZN and it wasn’t all that long before tensions flared between the two. Buatsi denied claims of Hutchinson supposedly handing him a beating in a past sparring session, and then Hutchinson got annoyed by Buatsi’s insinuations in return. But when asked specifically about how this stokes the fires of their impending fight, both fighters gave their impressions.

“I don’t need nothing to fuel what I’ve signed up for,” Buatsi said. “I know what I’ve signed up for so it’s not, ‘oh this is going to give you more energy, more fuel in camp’ — no, there’s none of that.”

“This is everyday for me,” Hutchinson would said in response. “There’s nothing new here. I do [expect a knockout], I genuinely do. And I believe it’s an easier fight than Craig Richards. I said it all the last time...he was smiling in my face, he was laughing, just like (Buatsi) is doing right now.

“Exactly what I said, is a done. The only thing that I didn’t do with him is knock him out, but however he stayed up, I do not know. And he’s an easier fight than Craig Richards, one thousand million percent. Stylistically, for me, I’ll get him a lot easier than I got the other one.”

I think (and hope) Buatsi will win comfortably. Better technical boxer and better endurance as well IMO. Can see a late stoppage after winning most of the rounds.

I loved Buatsi at the Olympics & expected him to have a brilliant career but I’ve got to say it’s been pretty underwhelming.

He’s never really stepped up.

Didn’t Azeez draw with a journeyman after Buatsi outpointed him? And he was pretty competitive with Buatsi.

I don’t think a Hutchinson KO at 7/1 is that crazy.

One things for sure in this fight & that’s that Hutchinson has ability & he will hit Buatsi clean. If an inactive Buatsi’s hearts not in it Hutchinson might be getting him at the right time.

Me too, Willy combines being thick with unlikeable and coherent. Joshua is class, remember him paying for a lower level pro to renew his licence and associated costs, he didn't publicise it it only came out cos the pro he helped mentioned it.

Willy's biggest battle after the fight will be literacy.

Yep, very true. Willy is great in the sense that he’s such a windup merchant, you’re going to tune in to see if the cocky git backs it up, or get his head taken off.

Such is life, that you sort of back the quiet assassin to get the job done here, rather than the loudmouth, but you just never know ….confidence is key in boxing, and they both have it in spades - it’s gonna be highly intriguing, because Hutch is a fast starter, and Buatsi has the class and the punch. I think Josh wins, but definitely one to tune into.
