Roy Jones Jr Son
Terribly sad news that one of Roy Jones' sons, Deandre, took his own life on Saturday, aged just 30.
The despair he must have felt to have done that. Roy Jones Jr and his family are very much in my thoughts.

RIP. so sad. Never heard of the lad but I'd have thought he grew up around money. Roy didn't have a great relationship with his old man so I'd imagine he cultivated a better one with his own kids.
I wouldn't say it's always despair though. Many different reasons people would do it.

Many different reasons. Lost my brother in law to this by hanging 10 years ago this month. Zero foresight or indicator this was on the cards. And so many unresolved questions a decade on. Thoughts with Roy, losing your boy is unimaginably heartbreaking.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 04:27 RIP. so sad. Never heard of the lad but I'd have thought he grew up around money. a lotta people are afraid/ashamed to admit theyre struggling. its hard.
i knew another poster from another forum who used to constantly poke at ppl who did it, saying how selfish they were, which is nonsense. then even he did it unfortunetly. you never know who may be hurting inside, we are all human, we all feel pain .

Sorry to hear that mate. Once the decision is made, there is generally no sign at all that the person is going to do it as they are dead set on doing it and are never going to give any sign at all because of the off chance that someone prevents them from doing it. Makes it virtually impossible to prevent. They might even feint a great positive mood and plans for the future. But internally, they've already decided to end matters. You simply can't prevent this or see it coming. Very sad. My sincere condolences.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑26 Jun 2024, 18:19Many different reasons. So sorry to hear mate. It’s the people left behind too people don’t realise the pain. Like you said no indication of what’s going through someone’s mind.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑26 Jun 2024, 18:19

Was there a note or anything?
I know some times people leave notes.

Because if you say you're feeling that way once. People feel sorry for you.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑26 Jun 2024, 22:40 a lotta people are afraid/ashamed to admit theyre struggling. its hard.

If you say it twice. People feel sorry for you, but not as much as before.
If you say it 3 times. People start resenting you for bringing them down.
If you say it 4 times. It gets to be "Ahh just f*cking do it already"
They won't say that to you, but they get tired of hearing it, and you hear it in their voice. It's not easy to talk about both for the person feeling it, and the person trying to talk to someone that's feeling it. The best thing I'd think is someone who also deals with those same kinds of emotions, but has found a way to handle it.

Hello mate. Nope nothing. And as cliched as it sounds, he was the happiest looking guy you'd ever meet. He was visiting my mum in law in Oz and did it there. Father in law found him over the bannister.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 Jun 2024, 02:11So sorry to hear mate. It’s the people left behind too people don’t realise the pain.
