In April of 2012, Dawson defeated Hopkins and claimed the WBC LHW title. In May of 2012, Kessler made a one fight voyage to 175lbs, knocked Allan Green out cold and won the WBC Silver title in the process.

I remember there was a brief talk about Dawson-Kessler fight. There was a possibility that Kessler would be made WBC's mandatory. It wasn't meant to be, though. Both fighters came down to SMW for their next fights.

What if Dawson decides not to drop down to 168 for the Ward fight and remains at LHW? And what if Kessler stays at LHW and pursues a WBC title shot, looking to become a two-division champion?

In other words, who wins a Dawson-Kessler fight?

I'd go with Dawson winning a clear, unanimous decision.merge fruit He'd use his superior athleticism to control the pace and distance, picking Kessler apart with crisp combinations from the outside. It would be a solid first title defense for Dawson before moving down to face Andre Ward.

Dawson's southpaw jabs and combinations would be too much for Kessler to overcome and Dawson would take a decision.

Dawson had trouble against Glen johnson and ward when they crowded him. Kessler doesn't fight like that - it would be a battle at distance and Kessler wasn't a ko artist so I'd pick the slicker dawson
