Dave Allen v Johnny Fisher
Being talked about now. Was mentioned the post-fight press conference and they've spoken about it directly today. Johnny very respectful, turned out Allen was the first pro he sparred. Dave very honest saying he's not ready yet.
good interview with Dave and Aky too on Boxing Now

Re: Dave Allen v Johnny Fisher
If he wants Allen then put fisher on the catteral undercard vs dobvchenco 10 rounder. Dave Allen on the card too I’m a 6 or 8 rounder vs somone. Then have em headline the copper box again October/november.
If they thought Allen was a future opponent they should have given him a slot on this undercard.
For a couple of grand you can get your next opponent on your undercard and start building things early.

Fisher will bosh him up. Allen is not serious and never has been.

Dodgy as well. The Darch fight was a clear fix for me... And the bookies who refused to pay out

Let’s wait till fisher is in with a live dog before anyone can get excited. Allen is not a live dog, he will take him rounds but that’s all. Allen of 5 years ago would be interesting.

Allen is a live dog. But still a dog. Has the chin to potentialy get fisher tired, and he whacks harder than a journeyman. Not a puncher puncher, but at his levle can hit a bit.
Re: Dave Allen v Johnny Fisher
I think most would pick Babic over Allen.
Re: Dave Allen v Johnny Fisher
silliest thing I have read for some time.

I think Allen has lost any goodwill amongst fans. The board of control are probably not really looking forward to him getting a big fight after that Darch debacle.
Re: Dave Allen v Johnny Fisher
If Dave Allen was serious about his boxing he wouldn't be fighting the likes of Saturday nights opponent.
Dave needs to reassess his commitment and at least trade with a boxing in the UK rankings and give that individual a pay cheque. Roman Fury for example who has only had 4 fights but at least he has some sort of pulse.

Re: Dave Allen v Johnny Fisher
Dave Allen has had exactly one meaningful contest in the 2020s - the Clarke fight, and we saw how that went.
I don't want to see him anywhere near a main event in 2024.

I think if we're looking for the Board to take a lead on ethical match ups we'll be waiting a long time.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024, 09:43 I think Allen has lost any goodwill amongst fans. I find him interesting, honest and insightful. And he's far from boring, any interview with him always does good numbers.Mummery wrote: ↑08 Jul 2024, 04:27No fighter has ever disinterested me as much as Dave “couldn’t give a feck” Allen. I think at this stage of their respective careers - Fisher would roll through Allen.

I wasn't claiming he's a world beater, just a decent person who I've met as he came down to help at Zee's amateur club in out town and had time for everyone. I get Fisher's career is on a different trajectory, but I do think he's a decent fella and hope he gets some decent fights, that's all.

It’s ok if others find him a boring, lazy fighter who never gave his best.

Agreed. I just think there will be some nerves around at the prospect of Allen getting a high profile fight, especially after the Darch fallout.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024, 16:41I think if we're looking for the Board to take a lead on ethical match ups we'll be waiting a long time.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024, 09:43 I think Allen has lost any goodwill amongst fans.
