Anyway, a sporting contest, this fight is a joke. However, as an entertainment, this could well be an oddly satisfying spectacle.
Miller vs Browne was one of the most oddly entertaining fights of last year. Hopefully we get a similar repeat of that.

We've also got Joyce v Chisora coming up this weekend.

With Chisora, who's fought everyone apart from Joshua and Wilder, and I bet he would have if given the opportunity, you can never tell what's going to happen, and this looks like another interesting clash of styles.

Perhaps the winners could tee off against each other whilst we wait for Usyk to send Fury into retirement later this year?

Ruiz desperately needs some of that Chisora willingness if he's ever going to fulfil his potential and a fight against either Joyce or Chisora would be good.

A fight against Joyce, possibly.
Though I don't need to see Ruiz vs Chisora. If Chisora somehow gets past Joyce, it just means Joyce is even more shot to bits than him. Chisora looked like his legs would give out at any moment against Washington

For an undercard, this is a great fight. Yes, everyone’s gonna be making fat jokes, but these two have earnt huge respect otherwise. Miller cause he’s shown massive heart and a will to win, plus he’s low key hilarious.

And Andy, well, because one night he walloped the man, Anthony Joshua in the biggest upset we’ve seen in a decade. Showing us how in boxing, anything can happen. He can dine out on that for the rest of his life, though hopefully not literally.

This is gonna be a 12 round gruelling war, although I’m a bit fearful for big baby, because his chin is so good, and Andy really packs a TNT left hook. Just the speed of the thing…

Ruiz did also go very close with Parker which I think is worth a mention. He could've been WBO champ by the time Joshua faced him. Many people had him winning that fight.

He also defeated Wilder's best win

Just saw pics of Miller. He appears to have lost a substantial amount of weight since he weighed 333 vs Dubois.
He is probably around 270

Miller looks great, no doubt. :salut:
Good for him, hopefully it stays off.
Shed a truck load of fat, while retaining muscles on his arms and shoulders. Which shows exercise as well as dietary and maybe other things.
They should be fighting for the Weight Watches belt, but it probably won't go around Andy.
I don't mind this match up at all. If both guys have put in the work, and have the stamina, the fight could be decent.

And it will probably end up the same with Miller as it always did with Ruiz...pics of him looking thinner and in shape, then he gains 40 lbs before the fight somehow

:OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes:

Remember when he weighed in the AJ rematch with his shirt and pants on and he was heavy.

Got us all fooled into thinking he had weights in his pocket..

Turns out he was just fat.

you can tell millers actually lighter, cuz he's got visibly loose skin from weight loss. his tits basically deflated. classic look when someone who is very heavy trims down. will he be a better fighter now? i dunno

andy keeps his shirt on

Unforgiving Jarrell Miller ready to make Andy Ruiz pay

Jarrell Miller is on a revenge mission after watching Andy Ruiz reap the rewards of the most damaging moment of his career.

It was in June 2019 when Miller tested positive for the banned substance GW501516 and was denied by the New York State Athletic Commission a license to fight. He had been scheduled to challenge Anthony Joshua, then the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion, in a career-defining occasion at Madison Square Garden.

Ruiz, at relatively late notice, replaced him and caused one of the biggest upsets in the history of the heavyweight division when he stopped the previously undefeated Joshua in seven rounds.

The 34-year-old Ruiz lost his titles to Joshua in a rematch later that year, but victory transformed his career and his life. Miller, 36, has remained on the outside looking in, and will know that any fading hopes he has of challenging for a world title are dependent on him defeating Ruiz on Saturday at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium.

“This fight is not personal,” Miller started, before proceeding to say, “Andy replaced me a couple of years ago and got that big check and now I have to fornicate him up. I’m going to turn his ass into burritos and nachos after this one.

“I feel great. I haven’t been eating like my man Andy here. I put down the tacos, burritos, the burgers and hard work baby.

“I come to win. I come to knock people out. I destroy people. He may be the ‘Destroyer' but I’m the one who destroys people. Ready to work.

“This is the opportunity to get back what I’ve lost. Me and Eddie [Hearn, Joshua’s promoter] have a bromance hell or behave relationship. But that’s life. You become a man. Have a conversation and sort things out and move on and move forward.”

Ruiz has fought twice, defeating Chris Arreola and then Luis Ortiz, since losing to Joshua in December 2019. It is nearing two years since the victory over Ortiz.

“Burritos and Nachos have been helping win all my fights and become champion of the world so nothing wrong about that,” he said. "And that is exactly what I’m going to do on August 3. I’m going to win. I’m going to get this victory and this victory will be for God.

“No matter how tall you are, how big you are and how much muscle you have, it’s all about what you have inside. And I have a big heart.

“I feel really good. I feel sharp. We did all the hard work in the gym. Yes, I had a two-year layoff but that doesn't mean that I was outside of the gym. I was still training. I was still disciplined. Even through my ups and downs, God was with me and that’s why we are going to win on Saturday night.

“I had it all and I want it back. I was the unified heavyweight champion of the world and then boom. It went away. I want it back and I have to do. I know exactly what I did wrong. And I know what I have to do to get it all back.”
