Johnny Fisher confirmed to be on this undercard.

Thomas Carty saying his next fight on DAZN will be announced very soon.

Do we think I’m putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5?

I don't think he's trying to do it, he's clearly desperate to fight for world title shot.
they are really still building him whilst hoping for a bigger fight .
JC has wasted a lot of time hanging around for Taylor and seems to lack the kind of highlight reel stoppages that would raise his profile - that may change vs prograis but I think its more likely to be a wide points win .

Yes. Fisher is solely there for tickets. Ste Clarke added for the same reason.

Carty is a mandatory requirement if they want any entertainment after or before. No Carty, no Party.

The fight is barely selling a ticket at the moment other than those blocks distributed to boxers.

They'll get the bottom half fullish somehow but it's a real shame the first fight in that superb arena will have half of it taped off.

Good. It was embarrassing putting on the first boxing there at a third full arena.

Injured Jack Catterall won't rush to reschedule date with Regis Prograis

Jack Catterall has spoken of his disappointment and having to reschedule his bout with Regis Prograis.

The pair were due to fight on August 23 at the new Co-op Arena in Manchester, but Catterall withdrew yesterday and promoters Matchroom are looking to reschedule later in the year.

“I picked up an injury and tried to train through it last week and took medical advice and obviously it’s disappointing, but health comes first,” Catterall told BS. “I’ve had to make the decision to withdraw and look at rescheduling it.”

Catterall is full of respect for Prograis, so is not prepared to leave anything to chance or to have any excuses post-fight. He wants to be at his best for the Houston-based junior welterweight contender.

“A hundred per cent,” said the 31-year-old Englishman. “With the situation I find myself in, I find myself in a good position. I’ve had the momentum this last year or two, so I’ve got to make sure I can get in there and it’s a fight I believe I can win so I’m not going to go in there less than 100 per cent.”

Catterall didn’t want to disclose the nature of his training injury but is staying in the gym and working with his team on being prepared for a new date. Early reports said it could be the fall, but Catterall will box when he’s ready.

“My manager Sam [Jones] and Matchroom are working with me, keeping the dialogue going,” the Chorley southpaw added. “We’re looking at dates, but ultimately I need to make sure I’m fit. The worst thing for me would be to reschedule it too soon and then have to withdraw again because I’m not 100 per cent. So there’ll be a decision made between us going forward.”

Disappointed to see this I hope it's rescheduled and he gets some momentum. I think he can stop Prograis at this stage.

Ellie Scotney-Mea Motu to support Jack Catterall-Regis Prograis

Ellie Scotney is to defend her IBF and WBO super-bantamweight titles against her mandatory challenger Mea Motu on the undercard of Jack Catterall-Regis Prograis on October 26.

Catterall and Prograis will fight at the Co-op Live in Manchester at the second attempt after an injury suffered in training by the former forced a postponement – and the fight between the 26-year-old Scotney and Motu, 34 and of New Zealand, will form their chief support.

“I’ve been desperate to get back in the ring since I unified the division in Manchester back in April,” Scotney said. “That night was a dream come true for me and it seems like the city is becoming a second home.

“Right now all that matters is October 26 where I’m fully focused on defending what’s mine. I’m ready to prove I’m the number one in the super-bantamweight division.”

Reece Bellotti will by then have fought for his British and Commonwealth super-featherweight titles against Michael Gomez Jr.

There will also be a rematch at junior welterweight between Campbell Hatton and James Flint, who inflicted Hatton’s first defeat, contributing to him replacing his uncle Matthew as his trainer with Barry Smith.

Pat McCormack fights William Andres Herrera of Argentina at welterweight, where Ishmael Davis will also fight, against an opponent to be confirmed. The junior middleweight William Crolla, the middleweight Ste Clarke and the featherweight Joe McGrail also await opponents. Emily Whitworth makes her debut, at bantamweight, against an opponent also to be confirmed.

So was this a genuine injury or were they struggling on the ticket sales?

Is it at the same venue or a smaller one?

Fisher on there for tickets ?

That's mad to put a fight of zero interest and that will sell zero tickets as chief support. I know it's cheap for the promoters but surely there's a huge cost to elevating this dross to near the top of any show.

I like this fight - Lima is dangerous and much better suited to Light Middle than Middle.

Hatton and Gomez will sell all the tickets, and they will have TV money for title fights, so they can give Catterall and Scotney work without losing money.

Then they are hoping that Catterall and Scotney will develop enough of a profile to be able to pay for shows by themselves.
