Lomachenko did the right thing
In "Ducking"... "Tank Davis"...Imho.
"Lomachenko" wanted to fight "Tank", quite some time ago, but the fight just never materialized.
So many Loma haters out there in YouTube land filling up the comments section with Taunting and Jeering at Loma for him deciding that he just apparently doesn't feel it anymore(The desire to fight Tank).
Imho, I think that Loma is doing a very common sense wise business move, and a very wise self preservation move/decision as well.
Why take that extra dangerous risk, especially at this point in his boxing carear, and his life, and his well being..?!
Loma obviously saw something in that Frank Martin bout, which made him decide to not go through with signing to fight against Tank Davis. And, I don't blame him in the slightest.
If I were Loma I would've done the same thing. Besides the health and well being self preservation reasons, why the heck he's expected to fight against Tank, "Now", at 36 years old, but it couldn't get made """Then"""...(2017-2019)... timeframe ?!
Above all other reasons that Loma's "Ducking" Tank, Loma haters are just making themselves look like a big ole bunch of Stupid Bitter Bullies. This is first and foremost Boxing, which is a sport, and also, which is a Business. And therefore every boxer's right to select properly, as to "Who is the proper fight for himself"..!! And especially at the age of 36..!!
The Loma haters are such a bunch of "Sickening dipwad brained Goof Troops".
Also, not to mention, the constant stupid taunting about Loma having 3 losses.
Well truly, it should really only be one loss(The Lopez bout in 2020)
Haney bout should've been a Draw, imho. Even though Most actually think that Loma actually should've gotten the nod.
And the Salido bout should've been a decisive decision win for Loma, being that Salido could've should've easily had at least 5 point deductions.
So really, Loma Should be actually at 19-1-1, if all was fair and square in his boxing carear.
Finally, if I were Loma, I'd be setting my sights on going back down in weight, specifically to 130.
Fight one or two opponents in that division (Junior Lightweight), and angle myself into a Superbout versus the Ultra Super Popular "Naoya Inoue"...Yes, Everyone should realize that "Inoue" would definitely Not Duck Lomachenko..!! He'd be just fine with moving up to 130 for a Super Mega Money bout versus the still very known and popular Lomachenko.
This would be the greatest and wisest business decision for Lomachenko.
A very winnable bout and most of all, so much lesser risk of getting brutally Ko'd.
And actually, a Bigger Payday as well..!!!
Plus, also, very likely no pricey hospital bills after the fight..!!!

Lomassiah can do as he pleases. If he retired tomorrow I would respect and applaud his decision.

I'm not sure taking on Inoue involves "so much lesser risk of getting brutally Ko'd" compared to fighting Tank but I'd love to see either fight (or Inoue-Tank even).
Anyway, I agree - Loma's country is being minced, he's 36 and he's been on the receiving end of some dodgy points decisions à la GGG. I wouldn't begrudge him taking a time out from the bullshit of boxing.

I scored a draw with Lopez and Loma by 2 against Haney.golden_labrador wrote: ↑26 Jul 2024, 09:42 I'm not sure taking on Inoue involves "so much lesser risk of getting brutally Ko'd" compared to fighting Tank but I'd love to see either fight (or Inoue-Tank even).

I think I scored it even against Salido, too... But I remember I wasn't as focused on scoring that one.

Agreed.
Eastern European boxers often seem naively amateurish in their approach to boxing as compared to their more cynically professional counterparts in the West.
It's almost as if they're still using an old fashioned mindset that seems to no longer exist over here.

- Musta been stoned blind not to see this was one of modern boxing's dirtiest fights orchestrated by the BobFather using two of Boxings worst miscreants, Referee Laurence Cole and drug cheat Salido.
Loma won a WBO International Feather title his first fight, thus getting Salido as the WBO Feather Champ who didn't bother making weight, in the 130s and hydrated to full welter on fight night. Title only on the line for Loma. Salido lowblowed, headbutted, and hit on every break for 12 miserable rounds with no penalties and scarcely a warning. Loma adjusted and was beating him up as the fight wore on, so Salido was hanging on for dear life every time Loma was up on him to keep from being KOed. Natch, when Cole broke, Salido continued to take his freebie hitting on the breaks, but now Loma was dodging before digging in on Salido some more.
Fight should've been investigated, but of course all of boxing most nefarious anthropoids including the judges were in on it, so nothing was done. Bottomline Loma got his harsh introduction to modern pro boxing needing to make sure an Ama couldn't win a title with his 2nd fight. No matter, Loma made appropriate adjustments in a stellar career as one of the most popular boxers of his era.
Salido was shyte for the rest of his soon to be finished career and good riddance while Cole is still ruining every fight he possibly can...only in boxing, folks...

Re: Lomachenko did the right thing
If I was Loma, I wouldn't face any American fighter. He's been on the wrong end of two many robberies.
Re: Lomachenko did the right thing
I scored it 115 - 113 for Salido. But Loma took 12 rounds pounding to the balls , i never saw something like that. How was he able to step up the gas and beat the crap out of salido in the 12th i cannot understand. Despite losing he looked good as the bout finished.
I scored 115-113 for Lopez. Close, but clear. Lomachenko lost that bout himself, he fought like an idiot and not engaging in first half.
I scored 116-112 for Lomachenko against Haney. Somewhat close fight, but still robbery.
Everybody talking about Loma boxing skills, but i think his physical strength is very underrated. He is able to bully much bigger oponents when he want to.

Loma was avoided by all these cats till they thought he was old. Handled Haney. Arum has done an odd job of not protecting him from bad decisions. Man will fight anyone: love Tank but he shouldn’t say he is being avoided. His record doesn’t show that.
