Again there was an hour scheduled on Europort. They showed one complete fight....then the first round of the next fight and went off to trampolining.

Ive pretty much given up now. Nothing is getting put up on YouTube apart from the obvious gender fight...yawn

I’m wondering if Khelif will be “ineligible” to receive the reward payment from the IBA, wherever she finishes in this competition.

That would surely be some serious victimisation.

they defo wont be paying her if she medals, she is their demon and the italian their martyr in their war vs the ioc and what they call 'world boxing'. let's see if they also pay out the hungarian if she loses to khelif

funny enough the iba had no problems with her boxing women until she beat a russian in the 2023 world championships and the olympics began to near

the iba is the only governing body ever, in any sport, to be removed from the olympics. it's that much of a sh!tshow. they went to court on the decision and failed there too, as they still hadnt cleaned up at all.

boxing has enough problems, we dont need this culture war sh!t now infesting it

So these two athletes haven't scored many knockouts? So what, It's amateur boxing. There generally aren't that many knockouts. Look at other top female amateurs to see how many kos they have. You think Deontay Wilder amateur stats reveal his power? He had 4 in 27 contests and he didn't fight 2 minute rounds like the women used to.

Many of these two women's losses came earlier in their career when they were teenagers, 20, 21. They're now 25 and 28 respectively, reaching their physical peak and filling out nicely don't you think. I can imagine Hughie Fury looking on in envy.

Wikipedia reveals there have been 14 known female intersex competitors in the Olympics' history (not including the current games.) 7 have won medals. If you remove those that played in team events (football, volleyball) that leaves the individual athletes (10 in athletics, 1 in judo.) Of that 11, 6 have won medals. That's a whopping 54% - a huge percentage given the number of medals available in ratio to the number of entrants. The judo competitor had actually undergone the necessary surgery to allow her to compete and failed to medal in four games.

It's very unfortunate for Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting to be born this way but they have a physical advantage and I feel they, those encouraging them and those looking to gain from it are morally wrong.

Would be absolutely the right thing to do from the IBA. Can't reward a biological XY man that's banned by the IBA because of for beating XX-boxers.

All I've seen so far are Nelvie Tiafack against the Italian Diego Lenzi and the Jalolov fight. All events are available on German television via parallel livestreams as far as I know. It might not work outside of Germany unless you use VPN services.

But how much of a physical advantage? Surely most if not all of those women who took Khelif and Lin the distance would fail to do so against an equivalent male boxer at the weight.

If Khelif and Lin opponents aren’t in any additional danger by facing them, then it’s just a lot of knicker knotting for me.

The issue with discussing physical advantages is that can apply in lots of sports. If Tyson Fury was 6’0” and 14 stone would he have achieved anything as a HW? If any top basketball player was a foot shorter they wouldn’t be playing basketball at the same level. They were discussing British swimmer Adam Peaty the other day and mentioned he can naturally overextend his arms and that was an advantage. Some men have naturally high testosterone, others low but high testosterone or being on PEDS means nothing if you can’t box. If either of these two fighters at the Olympics don’t get gold then what does that mean?

We're talking about a sport where not making weight by half a pound automatically disqualifies you, yet being a biological male isn't considered a big enough physical advantage over women for some of you? Claressa Shields would absolutely destroy and stop you in a minute. Does that make you a woman or eligible to compete against women? No, it's about levels.

Imane Khelif is a poor boxer nobody would ever hear about if he competed against other XY-boxers. He would never qualify for any event or win anything. It's not his fault to be born with a disability or a genetic defect, but it also shouldn't be an advantage. Tough luck, but his disability is not anyone else's problem.

the iba said khelif had elevated test but then came out and said they didnt even test for elevated testosterone. the iba seem to not even be sure about it and wont give details about what the actual testing was, refusing to answer questions. they cite confidentiality yet put khelif on blast every chance they get. what is clear is that the iba had no problems with khelif boxing women until a year ago when she beat a russian boxer. they said khelif had undergone testing in the years before that too, so why werent they banned then?

and ya when theres hyperbole about khelif being some freakishy powerful monster, who is going to kill or badly ko some girl, of course the lack of stoppages is relevant. it's completely at odds with the narrative and the viral nonsense of being khelif being some 40 second killer who stops women with the first punch. thats down to the italian being a heartless quitter who now admits they shouldnt have done it.

until basically 1 guy at the iba suddenly decided to ban khelif there had never been any question of her sex or testosterone levels, no articles, no headlines, no commentary from her opponents, nothing.

now the iba is making 100k payoffs for boxers to quit in 40 seconds against khelif, ya not strange at all, not shady coming from an organization so corrupt they are the only governing body in any sport to ever be removed from the olympics

ukranian beast olek khyznaik makes the semis . he was well ahead in the gold medal final in tokyo, only to take be ko'd (there's some power for you) by his brazilian opponent with about a minute left. i feel for him because it was his only loss in years and of course it comes late in the olympic final, in the most gutting way possible. hope he can finally get the gold but got a tough cuban ahead of him who beat ben whittaker for gold in tokyo

olek 29 and never fought pro, guessing he might stay a career amateur but still very fun to watch regardless. non stop pressure

the yanks still with a couple boxers left to try to break the 20 year drought of gold medals for their men. in tokyo they had 3 make the finals but all lost clearly. omori jones guaranteed at least bronze at 71kg after a good showing in the quarters, and 2021 world champ jahmal harvey beat one of his biggest rivals already and has on paper an easier opponent in the quarters

canadians also getting their first medal for the men in decades thanks to wyatt sanford, pulling arguably back to back upsets vs strong boxers from bulgaria and uzbekistan

disappointed that sanford cut off his mullet though

The IBA, just like any other organization created by humans, is bound to be corrupt, manipulative and agenda driven. That's human nature, I have no problem with it. I know there's never one side that's entirely right and one side that's completely wrong in an argument. But when did the IBA claim Khelif failed a PED test, for testosterone or anything else, and is banned because of it or is banned because of hyperandrogenism? I'm not aware of that. The IBA said Khelif "failed" DNA test and can't compete against XX-boxers (women) because he is in fact a biological male (XY-boxer). And he's not the only case.

Here's the literal translation of what Kremlev said: "Based on the results of DNA tests, we identified several athletes who tried to deceive their colleagues and pretended to be women. The test results proved that they have XY chromosomes. These athletes were excluded from the competition." https://tass.ru/sport/17370249

In was sense is the Italian paid off? She even defended Khelif. And she's right, it's not Khelif's fault, he didn't choose to be born with a disability, he didn't decide to be identified as a girl at birth and brought up as one. He also isn't responsible for being allowed to participate at the Olympics, he doesn't make the rules. But he's not a woman. He's a man, a biological male human with a passport that says he's a woman. The rule should be simple for all competitive sports: XX-athletes compete with XX-athletes and XY-athletes compete with XY-athletes. No exceptions. That's the rule the IBA follow.

XY-chromosome, looks like a man, walks like a man, talks like a man and hits like a man. Not a very good man, to be honest, but still, like a man:

the same iba passed her in years prior and only banned her after she beat a russian boxer in 2023. did her dna suddenly change? there was never any question of gender or testosterone levels, no articles, no headlines, no commentary from her opponents, no iba press releases, nothing

the iba wont put any reports out there and are very vague about what the actual procedures were, it's just taking the word of the unchallenged president of an unprecedently corrupt organization.

and ya the iba paid the italian and her team 100k, pathetic  they are obviously invested in pushing this narrative

What are you referring to? Are there multiple dna tests with different outcomes? No, it was the first and only dna test Khelif had to take. His dna didn't change, nobody bothered to test him before.

It's not about him beating a Russian woman, did you not read the quote? "Based on the results of DNA tests, we identified several athletes who tried to deceive their colleagues and pretended to be women."

Were they all banned for beating Russians? No, they were banned for being biological males. Those tests are not part of your regular PED testing routine, by the way.

One thing I'll agree with you on, Angela Carini shouldn't receive the prize money. Split it between everyone who loses to Khelif or don't pay anyone at all.

how do you even know that when it comes to testing in past years? did the only discover dna tests in 2023? the iba isnt remotely transparent about what testing was given in what years. they wont release anything and are extremely vague, citing confidentiality while continually blasting khelif and accusing them of being dishonest. the president has only given a couple comments to russian televison and wont go into it further

what is known for sure is they passed khelif to box in years before and there is no evidence of anyone coming forward raising any suspicion of their sex

too bad the hungarian didnt quit, maybe the iba wouldve paid her 100k like they did the italian
