Tyrone McKenna vs Mohamed Mimoune 2

Post by handsofstone »

This Saturday on DAZN, Mimoune getting the chance to put right one of the worst robberies I've seen in the Golden Contract a few years ago, McKenna just coming off getting holes punched through him by Crocker, he's still a serial hard man though McKenna but he did retire for a bit before this rematch was made

Mimoune not in great form tbh and probably still doesn't have the power to hurt McKenna but Tyrone usually never in a dull fight

I thought he was a Matchroom fighter. Do MR work with Conlan cos it's also Dazn platform?

Mimoune taking his time and going route to the bodies, good for him avenging that controversial defeat and showing there are levels even in Europe

Bit of a smash and grab from Mimoune, that left eye was shut tight and didn't look like it was going 10, not sure how it came about, didn't see any headclashes and McKenna was using his long jab well, still as soon as Mimoune hurt him to the body it was effectively over, put McKenna down with a left downstairs in the 4th and leathered him when he got up, the finishing KO in the 5th was high end from Mimoune, cut right across the stomach of McKenna and probably ended his career

Moran's quick win over O'Neil was a shock. Just blasted him straight out. Think there was a hint of a too soon ref intervention but probably saved him from a very nasty KO

Same. That robbery was the kind that makes boxing look too corrupt to be allowed to continue.

A few defeats for home fighters, always the sign of a nicely matched card. Chuffed for Aston Brown, it's difficult for Scottish fighters as no real headliners for bigger shows (Taylor excepted) and it sounds like he's been through some tough times, so really good to see.

Yep, beautiful shot wasn't it.

Dylan Moran with a quick win against a Belfast lad too. He'd had the same done to him by Marku a while back so pleased for him to exorcise that experience.

I went to the first fight so bad seeing Mimoune running in celebrating when he thought he won. glad he got his revenge.

i miss york hall MTK shows. covid robbed us of a decent crowd packed Walsh - Dickens final.

Tyrone McKenna and Mohamed Mimoune previously faced each other in a highly competitive bout. The fight was characterized by its back-and-forth action, with both fighters demonstrating their skill and resilience. Mimoune won the first encounter by decision, geometry dash which was met with some controversy and calls for a rematch to settle the score definitively.
