What brilliant matchmaking this is. Both about the same level.

was suprised to get up at 6 and fight only just started, was there a 2 hour rap concert on before?

Crawford skills were a little too good for Madrimov, wasnt any wide rounds crawford was just a step ahead. Was a 8-4 type fight. surpised it was close on 2 judges score cards. one round off a draw.

115-113 for me, the official cards of 115-113/116-112 pretty spot on i thought. close fight that crawford won in the last 2 rounds. madrimov is pretty good and crawford's punches not quite making the same dent. craw might finally lose if he spends much longer boxing at 154 or above

Eddie Hearn going full Jim Watt in wanting the challenger to strip the belt away from the champion....Embarrassing from him.

Real high level sh1t there, I had Crawford 116-112, might've had it a round wider if anything, Madrimov a quality operator, his footwork was great and he made the lead right hand work for him but overall I thought Crawford controlled him from the outside, fought southpaw all night and countered sharply with the left hand, had success with lead uppercuts to head and body and just looked the sharper punch picker for me, imo he was a clear winner

37 next month isn't he, not the superstar he should be.

They did Jarell Miller dirty, to save the so-called first mexican heavyweight world champion ever...

About the rest of the card, so happy for Rayo, and as for Colbert, this wasn't an upset. Andy Cruz looked like a seasoned pro in his 4th bout, while Morrell, despite keeping the flow, has not kept his power at 175 libs (plus Hot Rod was always steady on his feet).

I thought Crawford edged it by a feather. Next week Vergil is fighting also for a WBA title... still, great performance by Madrimov.

Got around to watching Valenzuela beat Cruz, agree with the 116-112 cards , I thought he was excellent, I don't see see it that close a fight, Cruz is tough, strong and bull like, never stops pressuring and had the odd success especially in the last couple rounds but for the most part Valenzuela boed his ears off, , jabbed, 1/2s, combinations, moved excellently, there was the worry that Cruz would catch up as he slowed down but he kept it together, made Cruz miss and countered him constantly, not just pitty patty flurries either, dug his heels into the mat at times especially with the uppercuts, nearly flawless, that would've been a travesty if Cruz got that imo

I watched it too and though Madrimov did really well, could have seen it either way. I don't think Crawford should go up any more weight at 36.

Agreed, great performance from Valenzuela, not easy to deal with the constant pressure of Cruz.

Bud Madrimov was class, quality fighters.

I don’t really like it when all-time great fighters just keep moving up through the weights. I’d rather not see Bud Crawford get hit by anyone bigger than a light middle.

Duran ringside did the same thing, Come to think of it I think he actually won a middleweight title, but bud just doesn’t look big enough

On the one hand, I definitely know what you mean.

But on the other hand, it's honestly so refreshing to see a modern fighter like Crawford really push themselves to take on real challenges and get out of their comfort zone, emulating some of the greats of the past. Way too many weight bullies trying to keep every advantage possible.
