I thought Richardson lost 2-1. Glad I was wrong.

margaret thatcher wrote: 03 Aug 2024, 14:53 how do you even know that when it comes to testing in past years? the iba isnt remotely transparent about what testing was given in what years. they wont release anything and are extremely vague, citing confidentiality while continually blasting khelif and accusing them of being dishonest. the president has only given a couple comments to russian televison and wont go into it further

what is known for sure is they passed khelif to box in years before and there is no evidence of anyone coming forward raising any suspicion of their sex

too bad the hungarian didnt quit, maybe the iba wouldve paid her 100k like they did the italian
Let's all be honest, nobody cares about women's amateur boxing. Nobody "clears" anyone to fight. They provide a female passport, and they are good to go. Once they reach a certain level, someone might get involved and force individuals to undergo testing, but never before that, if ever.

And you're wrong about Kremlev. He's very outspoken, actually. But he's also banned by the media outside of Russia, so you'll only find a fraction of his statements translated to English.

okay, so what did he say about the testing procedures in past years? what were they and why was khelif allowed to box then? did he only learn about dna in 2023? has he released reports on the 2023 testing to russian media? how does he know khelif is being dishonest?

paying the italian quitter 100k, wtf

usa's top boxer jahmal harvey upset in the quarters by a krygstan boxer, on paper he was their best shot for gold. expect to see him sign with a big promoter this year

they have omori jones left in the semis at 71kg, where long lanky lewis richardson is as well

I don't speak Russian, but my girlfriend does. I won't ask her to go down that rabbit hole just to continue this argument with you, sorry. We just watched what Kremlev said about the prize money. It doesn't only go to the Italian boxer Carini. Everyone losing to Khelif and Lin Yu-ting will be rewarded as if they won Olympic gold. That's what he said, not only Carini will be rewarded. You can't believe anything the media puts out these days.

right, in other words you have no idea about the testing. nor should you, since the iba has virtually no transparency.

if theyre all getting a 100k payout getting drawn against those 2 may be the best thing that ever happened to those boxers, especially the quitters who werent even close to medal rounds. imagine youre an elite boxer and win silver, and some far inferior boxers, including 40 second quitters, get gold money just for drawing the algerian or chinese

iba gotta have some poster girls in their battle with the ioc. i notice a smiling photo of carini is the first thing on their homepage

Damn you really hate female boxing with a passion, you literally lie about every single detail, even the smallest ones. May I ask you why?

khynizak edges lopez in an excellent fight 3-2 and now gets another change for gold, will be going against khaz nurbek oralbay, the defending world champ who hasnt looked as convincing these olympics. khyzniak, whose name i am repeatedly butchering in different ways, won a split vs oralbay last year

What an absolute mess. Here is an extract from that press conference where they basically say the opposite from what they came out and said 4 days ago!

"They have very high levels of testosterone," said Kremlev, who joined via video link and spoke through a translator.

"We got the test results that they allowed us to make and these test results show they have high levels of testosterone, like men."

what a f@cking mess, embarrasing

so yes it was a testosterone test, oh wait no it actually wasnt, but we wont say we were wrong about that. and we didn't make khelif's sex an issue, oh wait ya we did mention that she's a man deceiving people about it, and we paid off her opponent's team 100k, true. and ya the exact same testing didnt find khelif to be a male in 2022, but hey things can change a lot in a year. oh and by the way the ioc are sodomites.

is the iba serious with all this or is this satire

I agree it is farcical and looks shady - the norm in boxing unfortunately. Khelif and Lin's 2023 disqualifications begs the question why didn't they take it to the Court of Arbitration for Sport? I would suggest, because they knew they would lose.

This is a good article. It seems they were tested in 2022 after complaints from other nations but the IBA didn't/couldn't act on it until the worlds in 2023 when they were tested again..

I've heard Lewis Richardson being interviewed twice on the radio today. He comes across as really decent, grateful. grounded guy.
