Pick your perfect HW card of five fights in 1996 for maximum entertainment.
Beat this!
Lewis-Bowe
Tyson-Foreman
Holyfield-Tua
Bruno-Morrison
Golota-Hide
I didn't pick Moorer as I found him dull at the higher weight.

Lewis-Bowe for sure, plus Lewis-Tyson earlier (yea their respective peaks were at different times, but I remember waiting years for this fight)
Naseem Hamed would probably have been on many of the shows too.

Tyson would likely give him the Canelo treatment no? Pay me big or go fornicate yourself?

Naseem may well not have retired as the stupid money would have continued flowing in.golden_labrador wrote: ↑10 Aug 2024, 05:43 Lewis-Bowe for sure, plus Lewis-Tyson earlier (yea their respective peaks were at different times, but I remember waiting years for this fight)

To be fair we had some great cards and also a nearly great card … the Hong Kong one.

Turki is trying to throw his weight around just a bit too much for me - public spats with canelo / tyszu bcos he isnt getting his own way is a bit childish .
Some of his fight suggestions are also a bit suspect like saying he wanted crawford vs canelo despite the obvious gulf in weight class - opetai vs usyk the same thing .

Think Mercer would probably have mangled Bruno unless Frank was able to crack him early doors, he was a real big problem Mercer, gave Holyfield fits and Lewis one of his hardest nights work.

mercer had plenty off nights too, erratic form. if he were on his game prob wouldve been too tough for bruno, but wouldve been a live fight. both heavy handed, some what slowish guys with ramrod jabs
