According to Basilio, they almost fought in a hotel over a noise related argument.

Carmen was as gutsy as they come, and would be bringing it to Tito all night long, but boy would he be walking into some bombs. If Basilio could take those left hooks he may could win a decision over Tito, but that'd be a big if.

Carmen would win a lot of the rounds as he'd fight at a busier pace so if he his chin held up, he could take the decision, but Tito is not gonna have to look for him with those big KO shots. Carmen would be walking right into 'em.

My gut says Tito by KO.

Years ago I bought all those Boxer video tapes with the magazines. The ones on different boxers every issue with a few highlighting different divisions. After watching all these fights of all the greats for me one guys tenacity and courage shone through. That guy was Carmen! You had to nail that guy down to beat him. Tito could hit but was he in the same level of hitting power as Sugar Ray? Carmen took his heat over two fights. For me Carmen takes what Tito brings and gives him all he can handle and more. Tito could be hurt and was by lesser men than Carmen. Carmen outworks Tito for a decision victory.

The great Carmen Basilio wins this. That if he is aware of Felix "Tito" Trinidad's left hook.

Tony DeMarco almost stopped Basilio. And I don't think that DeMarco has the same punching power as Tito, but DeMarco was busier. Once Basilio was aware of DeMarco's left hook, he wore DeMarco down.

But, I don't think that would be wearing Tito down. But, he will win by decision because he was more busier than Tito.

Basilio could win both ways. Tito only had one way to win: by knockout
