If they can't fight in the UK it won't make much money.

Eddie Hearn Blames Chris Eubank Jr. for Failed Conor Benn Talks: ‘It’s Ego, Stupidity, a Lack of Common Sense’
“[Eubank] pulls a number out of the sky, and I’m just like, how?” Hearn said on the Boxing with Chris Mannix Podcast. “‘Well, you said it was the biggest fight in the history of British boxing.’ ‘Mate, I’m a promoter, what do you want me to say? That it’s not that big of a fight?’ I mean it is a big fight, but a lot of the time, on pay-per-view upside, you need to back yourself. If you think that (it can succeed), then no problem. You’ll actually hit your number.
“But we can’t put guarantees in for numbers that we won’t hit. We know it’s a huge pay-per-view but you can’t just have a conversation where you say, ‘It does a million buys.’ Does it? If it does a million buys, congratulations, you’re actually going to get more than your number. ‘So surely if you back yourself to do a million, we’re in, alright?’ ‘Oh, no you got to pay me up front for the million buys.’ ‘How?’ I don’t want to do a fight where I lose three or four million dollars. What’s the point of that?"
"Conor signed, Kalle was all in, and Chris Eubank Jr. wasn’t," Hearn said. "It’s so frustrating. I’m saying, ‘What are you going to do.’ ‘What do you mean? I’ve got loads of options.’ ‘No you haven’t!’
“He’s going to end up taking a fight for a quarter of what we offered him against maybe the IBO champion at middleweight. It’s Ego, stupidity, a lack of common sense. But mostly it’s someone in your ear who is a complete clown and has no idea of what they’re talking about. Welcome to the world of boxing.”

It's like Eddie is talking about himself. HE needs to back it if he thinks its making loads of money. Eubank is right asking for a high number. Hearn cant give it all the massive fight nonsense, then his bluff gets called when a fighter who is risking going in with an egg cheat wants good pay.

Fair play to Eubank is what I got from reading thatRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑19 Dec 2023, 08:49 Eddie Hearn Blames Chris Eubank Jr. for Failed Conor Benn Talks: ‘It’s Ego, Stupidity, a Lack of Common Sense’

Asking for danger money for facing a cheat. No problem with that.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - March 2024?
Thing is , Eubank does have options ,HE'S LISCENCED , Benn does'nt , it would be bad bad management for Chris not to ask for good money

‘Let’s play’: Eddie Hearn still intent on making Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn, targets early 2025
A Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn fight has had tremendous difficulties coming to pass, but not everyone is ready to let go of the idea.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn hasn’t yet given up on his dream of putting together this generation’s version of Eubank vs Benn, despite having hit several roadblocks in previous attempts. Chris Eubank Jr has openly stated that he’s still interested in fighting Conor Benn, and Eddie Hearn is all for it and expects that they might be able to put it together in the first quarter of 2025.
Hearn on Eubank Jr naming Benn as being on his hitlist
“Chris Eubank Jr has got one thing on his mind, it starts with ‘m’, ends with ‘y’, and it’s got ‘one’ in the middle. It’s spelled ‘money,’ it’s all he cares about. He ain’t bothered about legacy, he ain’t bothered about championships, he wants the monies. And the monies are to fight Conor Benn.
“So, Chris Eubank Jr, you can say about this fight, say about that, but if you want the monies, let’s play. And we will play in the first quarter of 2025.”
On Benn’s current situation
“Same as. We’re waiting on a decision, he’s dealing with things with his lawyers. He will be ready to fight hopefully at the end of this year, but without doubt in early 2025 and he’s ready to go straight into that Chris Eubank fight, for the monies.”
On Eubank also calling out Billy Joe Saunders and whether we’ll ever see him back in the ring
“I hope so. Billy Joe is a tremendous fighter, but every day that passes is a day that makes it less likely...it’s a long time out of the ring but the biggest problem for Billy is — it’s a double edged sword — he’ll want to say ‘well give me a date and give me a plan’ and we will want to say or someone else will say ‘well you got to show us that you’re eight or nine weeks away’ because I don’t want to book the venue, book everything, and you pull up in training.
“Like he can’t probably get focused without the date, without the opponent, like a lot of fighters. So I would like to see Billy take himself away and do a seven or eight week pre-camp to his real camp, come back and say ‘look, I’m here, let’s go.’

Hearn is still flogging this horse?
This bout was only ever a novelty fight at best.
Eubank is only interested in money and is semi retired.
Benn was never that great, but now he can't take his wife's fertility pills, he's even worse.
Apart from name recognition from a long dead rivalry between their fathers, from the best part of 35 years ago, what is the USP of this fight now?

Wasn't that borrowed from Duran's rant at Leonard before the first fight?si7dog7 wrote: ↑11 Oct 2024, 10:05To this day I haven’t forgiven him. Such disrespect and to bring the Champs wife into it.
